Save yourself the money mate you'd catch without the Goo and just as many if not more.

Hi hunter.
I made up a couple of batches using the squid supreme. I applied it until it cut right through the white b5 pop ups I was using. Then before I cast out I applied the thicker squid goo.
I really wanted it to work as it looks and smells spot on. But in the end after about three seasons with them I've come to the conclusion it's made absolutely zero difference to my catch rates. In fact I've caught considerably more on my own corkballs and sticky buchu in the same time. The buchu, my corkers and the goo baits are all pink.
I often used all three during a session. The goo baits were by far the poorest. Which Is a bloody shame cos I really liked it.

The pink almond one appeared to turn a season around for me a few years back after I was put onto it by a mate that was emptying the place. It certainly seemed to make a difference on that particular water. Not sure if it was the colour, the flavour, or what, but it caught me most of the ones I was after that year. Not used it since but it certainly changed my views on the stuff.

I wonder if it's very water and fish specific. Maybe a squid works on one, perhaps a nutty one on another water or maybe a zesty fruity one somewhere else. Perhaps water quality, strain of fish, depth/temp all have an effect on what result if any it produces on certain waters. But with so many flavours and at £13 a bottle I'm ****ed if I'm gonna wade through them to find out!!!

ive been using Goo for some time now and I believe that it has improved bites against non Goo baits.
I often have 1 or 2 of the 3 rods of a goo'd bait , my fav by far is the Almond Supreme, it has done prob 75% of my bites in the last 2/3 years.
I have found that certain waters have a reaction to one particular flavor , Especially when putting the liquid inside a Solid bag. If I changed the liquid the bites would dry up but as soon as changed back to the one particular flavour I got bites again.
If you are using them on popup's, make sure the pop up's are super buoyant otherwise you will be fishing with a wafter.
The main reason i starting to use Goo is from the korda under water DVD's ( got sold to the marketing I know ) but if the video's are true and not edited to much, you can see how much of a difference they can make at times.

I'd agree with you, I think it does ok on a cloudy type of water and waters with too many fish in them but my experience on a gin clear gravel pit isn't great.

Carp aint that smart imo lads. I have only used Goo on one water and that was very much a gin clear weedy old gravel pit holding some proper Nene Valley originals. They didn't seem to mind it one bit.
I don't fish any cloudy overstocked waters so I couldn't compare any experiences on those.
I've caught tricky carp from clear water on day glow pop ups, yellow plastic, pink foam..... you name it. It's where you put it that matters boys.
I can't say I'm advocating the stuff, but it defo works on tricky waters in my experience.

I would have to disagree,
On the Syndicate I am on, one of the top guys on there 95% uses Goo and he hammers the place at times and there is only 70ish in 19acres and its crystal clear and rather weedy.
He is a very good angler anyway so this is more than likely the reason why he is successful.

Its the same as most things in Angling, there will be days it gets you more bites and there will be days its counter productive. Personally i have never used it but if i fished highly stocked day ticket style waters i would be tempted to give it a go.

Don't you think it's too chemical for some waters and that it's also not the sort of thing we should be doing? Chucking any other sort of chemicals into a waterway would land you with a court appearance and a fine.

Simply put no mate. Number 1 a company as huge as Korda wouldn't be endorsing a product without finding out what's in it and if there was anything harmful they wouldn't endorse it.
Plus it's the same thing ali explained in the goo video him, dove and spooner did that the amount of bottles you would need to empty into a lake at the same time is something like a million bottles in a 5 acre lake before it would even have a remote effect on say water quality

Korda isn't a huge company.
Korda advocate the dropping of leads, lead is a poison, chuck lead into a waterway under any other circumstance and you would be charged.

Perhaps someone can remember but wasn't there a fuss made when Goo came onto the market. Something to do with it being similar to stuff they use to detect leaks in drains?

I haven't found it to make a noticeable difference on bottom baits or pop ups. But for surface fishing I have seen it be the difference between a “nearly taken” and “confidently taken” floater.
They don't seem to swim out of their way for the coated hookbait, but something about the Goo seems to stop them turning away at the last minute and turned interest into bites.

not used it myself but will admit I have thought about it. I have a friend who swears by one - and he catches more than most. (Not from an easy water either) A clear pit that is pressured all year round.

Yes. I think internet warriors claimed it was Fluorescein. A dye tracer. Korda specifically repeatedly said it wasn't.

It sure looks like fluorescein. But would that be a problem?
Fluorescein is used in waterways all the time and I have not found any research suggesting it damages fish.
It is even used to detect skin damage in fish:
"Exposure of either nonulcerated or experimentally ulcerated hybrid striped bass to an excessively high concentration of fluorescein had no apparent effect on health or survival. Our studies suggest that fluorescein may be a highly useful tool for rapid health screening in fish populations."
"All the 20 hybrid striped bass that were treated with
fluorescein and observed for 28 days remained healthy.
These findings were expected because excessively higher
doses of fluorescein are required to induce toxicity in
fish. For example, Pouliquen et al.9 found that exposure
of turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) to 700 mg fluorescein
per liter for 96 hours was not lethal."
It is also injected in humans:
It has also been used as a tracer in clinical studies of ocular blood flow (angiography),1 reflecting its
low toxicity
And it is used in eye drops to find foreign objects.
Just because it looks like something from a 80s horror movie does not mean it is poisonous.

When they turn the rivers green in Boston? For paddy's day they use Fluorescein. Pretty sure they use more than a couple of squirts of goo to achieve it too
Saying would you drink a bottle of goo is nonsense. Would you drink any of the thousands of other liquids, flavours, oils etc that are used in carp fishing

Going completely off the subject, how do you copy a link out of a YouTube video so when someone clicks it, the video starts playing from the exact spot that's relevant, like the link below. That's a handy little trick.

link doesn't work for me.
I have very good reason to believe that the dye whether fluoresceine or not is not the main active attractor ,the colour in the water will be part of the attraction, just part of it.
The korda lot may not even know its there and probably have no idea what it is.
