The block is different.
Pics are on the website. The big pic is the mk3, the small one the mk2. The mk3 also has isotopes at the tips of the arms where the mk2 doesn't.

I went for the mk2 and if I'm honest I wish I'd got the mk3 for the extra weight saving mate. Let's face it when you're spending that much on a net that you hope will last a lifetime, what's an extra 80 quid!

I myself went for the MK2, too, and that's mainly as it's less fiddly to get the arms in and out the block. But the Mk3 block looks phenomenal

I too thought it looked less fiddly but having now seen/played with the mk3 it's no different!

I didn't realise there was a big weight difference, so that'll explain the £80 difference then.

It's not fiddly at all bud, it's really well engineered, fits lovely.

I don't think it's that much lighter, the mk2 is light as a feather already.

The sleeve is pretty sturdy and well made

Its expensive - but - if anything happened to mine it would be replaced in a flash. That's what I think about mine. I've never regretted getting mine. Somethings I've regretted buying but never my net!
The holdall is good - as good as Cotswold!
I'm happy with the Mk3 - I'm not even sure if you can still buy the Mk2. The stalker is a good net - and those who have it with the extension handle rave about it.

You have a choice of Matt or Gloss - I chose matt because all my rods are matt finish.
I had my name added to the other side of the handle from the "Mk3 42" side
Black whippings were standard.
I just had some discreet silver grey whippings exactly the same as my Century Graphene rods.

I got his stalker with longer arms, you can also get a mid extension for it if you wanted a longer handle, he makes arms the length you want ( also got 46" arms ), mian difference is of course its a snooker cue handle that is in two parts, simply screws together, best of all world IMO. especially if you like traveling light and compact.

So you have another choice, plus its also cheaper but quality is unmatched by any net I've seen or used.!!!!

Been looking at this net but the statement it has a deep mesh is putting me off as i dont like deep mesh as on previous nets i have owned the drag this has caused is what makes it harder work landing fish yourself and its just not necessary .Any owners any thoughts on this?

Got a mk2 net, superb quality! If you find the mesh too deep! Just put a laccy band behind spreader block and tuck in excess mesh...... easy to move around, should you be lucky enough to get a fish in it! Will pull through with ease.

I've had a MkII since 2003 and a Stalker net with extension for four years, plus an extra set of arms and they're all just perfect.

I've got both and they are reverse taper so fairly thin at the butt end, however like the arms there is so sag at all, they feel very comfortable to use and as light as a light thing.

I had to pop out today and so I put an A4 sheet of paper stuck on the glass panel next to the knocker

parcel delivery had to pop out please dont take it back ANY of my neighbors will take it in and sign fo it on my behalf

To be fair the issue is with UPS. If you can prove they forged the signature (record the call) then they will have to pay for another one to be made at the very least!

If they have confirmed the van helper forged the signature they are admitting fraud and forging a signature is a serious offence. You bought the net and paid for the delivery through Graham/Dymag ? If this is the case they are responsible until you receive it and should therefore be sorting it out and I can understand your frustration.

So have I and at this time of year with 200 drops or more, a extra minute on even a 1/4 of your del can make a huge diff to your day. I'm not condoning his actions.

I've had 2 experiences like yours both with drivers who know me very well.

The last 1, he signed for me but delivered it to a neighbour who then went into hospital for 2 weeks...that was fun. Luckily I had dash cam footage to show I wasn't in at the time (maybe a option for you?) The shop sent out a replacement and then I had to phone them to tell them it had been del...I don't think they believed me.

The previous 1 I really felt for the driver, he signed for me and left it by my front door, problem was I had just gone on hols for 2 weeks..it wasn't there when I came back :-(

EDIT, if you have google maps enabled on your phone it may also show you were out at the time. I'm not sure how to get the info but I know it's there if so

My landing net is in my house the neighbours just knocked on they had been away for the night.It is absolutely stunning exactly what I wanted and I cannot get over how light it is.

Just put it side by side to my trakker hydro net which was around 180 I think and the difference is crazy.I put a cushion in the net and lifted the trakker had quite a big arc in the handle same cushion in the mk3 and it never budged plus probably half the weight.
Anyone thinking of buying a new top end net don't hesitate it really is worth the money on my first impressions of it

I'd have it tied to my left gonad at night.
That's the joy of £40 jrc nets, no testicular tethering required

Take it out, net a few, chuck it in the mud, this is what it was made for.

I was once in a syndicate of 30 anglers, and over half of the members had Dymag nets. Some of them weren't particularly well off, so that says a lot to me about the product. I suppose it sounds silly getting excited about a landing net but, they really are lovely. One day I think I'll treat myself.

I've used one, no disputing it's a nicely made net.
Personally I've never found the cheap nets with plastic blocks heavy in use and this is the only real benefit of the dymag. Yes it is stiffer, but if you are using a net in such a way that it's excessively bent then you're doing it wrong.

None of them are particularly heavy until there wet that's when you notice the difference between the Dymag and others plus the Dymag floats so you don't need one of those silly net floats,I have one I bought for £100 second hand the guy had only used it twice and needed the money

20 years ago I used a 36" net with a solid pole with glorified garden rake plastic grips on the handle.
5 years ago I was using a Sonik 42" type with a plastic spreader block which eventually broke.
Next I had a Shimano Tribal net which was brilliant albeit heavy.
The Dymag was natural progression to me. I took advice on here then just made a leap of faith. The Dymag is streets ahead of anything else I have seen or used. It looks amazing, its custom (to a degree) and it does the job perfectly. Its light, stiff and moves through the water so easily.
I dont think anybody who has used the Dymag questions it is the best out there but most just cant warrant £300 on a net.
My take on it all anyway.

You wont believe how effortless it is moving it through the water

The ease of movement through water is more to do with what mesh a net has really.
As I said, I've used one (for a good while) and it's made beautifully as you'd expect. My personal issue is that no net needs to cost that much or be so well made, yet I would recommend it to anyone that thinks otherwise. I'd much rather 2 or 3 cheap nets that are almost disposable plus a wad of change

I think the net is a net made by A N Other, but Graeme cuts the label off so its difficult to spot whose it is. The slimness of the arms and that thin kevlar string he uses between the arms also helps it cut through the water.

Story time.
March this year I caught a fairly nice carp at St John's. (photo on UB Baits Facebook page). Cos I'm an old git the nipper from next swim insisted on netting it for me, contrary to my wishes. He used my shiny newish Dymag net - having netted it he tugged the arms out of the spreader block and lobbed the pole across the gravel swim and up the bank all I could see was my net pole bouncing up the bank. Anyway "nipper" is now buried at the back of swim 11 with his arse sticking out of the ground, so I have somewhere to park my power porter,

Not very much as it was a very basic design which no one wants these days and it was far to light for a pod. The only pods people seem to want these dats are jag and solar, they have the market pretty much sewn up. Stick it on ebay and see what happens would be your best bet. There are a few dymag bits on ebay at stupid prices and they never sell they just keep getting relisted. People must be trying to jump on the band wagon that he is no longer trading.
