ive never had a problem with them but its only good practice to put a better cord on and swivel,it cant hurt, for a quid each, it will be fine

they have stupid names sometimes like bait rocket dispenser spod, they have been on there since the day the spomb came out, they was black at first but now red blue black white etc, you order them as soon as you see them, dont worrie if the add gets deleated as soon as you have paid its just spomb getting them pulled, they still always come, if you pay,

also seen these being sold on a carboot for 3.50 each b4 now, he told me that if spomb said anything hed tell them to do one, and that he was thinking of mass ordering them 1000+ and selling them with a seperate release ,that can later be pushed in to a empty shell,completely removing the legal copyright that spomb have on the design,and just calling the push release a gardening tool lol,that you get free with every empty spomb case ,completely legal he said

I found 3 for £17, they are all the large size but the build quality isn't great. First cast and the thing fell apart, the hinged section came apart but did clip back together again, wouldn't trust it to not completely break and stoped using it in the end.

Reckon it will be fine. I've done mine tonight, doubled up length of coated braid covered in shrink tubing. Didn't like the original wire inside! Don't think it would last long.

Sod all wrong with them just some people are expecting them to be the same as a £10/£12 'offical' one. I've had half a dozen so far. I've given some away & lost a couple but only managed to break one. They open up fine, of course you'll always get the odd cast that they don't open but then you do with official ones. That's down to loading not the device itself.

Just put 5kg out with mine, only didn't open 4 casts in total and that happens with the real spomb so all good

Used an 'official' one for a 8 day trip recently, approx 1 out of 6/7 casts did not open, so no different from chinese spods.

Mine arrived as well. Not perfect but will do the job nicely. Will change swivels and reshrink the wire. Bargain at £5.85 for 3.
I've got a legit one too but honestly I prefer spods or just a catapult. Even the real version doesn't open if you even slightly hit the clip. End up making a right old noise reeling a full spomb in and recasting.

£12 v £2 for the same item, I for one, don't have that sort of money to chuck away. If the spomb chap reassessed his prices, I might be tempted, especially as they prob all come from the same factory just outside Beijing.

My issue here is that spomb have released a great product but have not moved the idea on, so the dot spod release a product which imo is better and fixes some of the spomb product issue but Spomb are hell bent on stopping its release and are using underhand tactics to do so. Although I can't see how infringes their patients apart from bait delivery rocket?

At the end of the day we have all seen many times over how much carp tax is put onto the products we need or want whilst we are fishing. Just look at stoves for example.... Quite frankly it takes the piss!
So anything we can get without the tax on is a win for the average angler, if it means this great British 'inventor' starts to loose out then so be it, he could sell them for £6 each and still make a good profit on each one, but instead is just pulling our pants down

However, in this case partly due to the attitude of the 'spomb' company recently and also why would a chinese company bother to copy a carp fishing product like this that cannot be a mass market product I think they deserve all they get.
I suspect the chinese ones are prob' made in the same factory / sweat shop as the ones they sell.

Mine turned up a couple of days ago, apart from the crap swivel/stem they seem pretty good. Ebay seem to have removed all trace of them for the time being.

Anyone else having trouble with them not opening? I know there cheap but i almost stamped on one after about 10 casts in a row not opening! So loads free in eastbourne sussex if anyone wants them as now gone back to getting ripped of but less stress using the dot spod

I had one that didn't open well, shaved down the latch with a hook sharpening file and it was fine. Don't over do it though, or it won't close!
