Mountain warehouse helium sim has lived inside my bedchair for 6 years. I open the valve for a minute to let a little air in before use. I don't like it over inflated.
I bought mine second hand on ebay, I fish 2 nights a week and its still going strong.

LINKY POO™ https://www.idealo.co.uk/compare/6475801/mountain-equipment-helium-3-8-sleeping-mat.html

These are excellent as recommended on here by the legend that was Gerry. Very comfortable and totally transform a bedchair.

Just remember to shut the valve before sitting on your bed-chair, as you can squeeze the air out again if you forget ( I am very absent minded).

Another good thing is that it is easy to slip out from underneath the bag and you can roll it to squeeze all of the air out and slip it back into pack the bedchair up.

Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 warmzone. Currently £55 on eBay. Heavy duty valve. Fits perfectly inside of the bedchair outers, really comfy too.

I definitely don’t suggest blowing it up. I tend to open the valve upon setting up, giving it a few long breaths and then let it settle itself over half an hour or so before closing the valve.

Another plus is opening the valve and just folding up your bedchair. I store it that way too in between visits to the lake.

If you're on a budget, i've had a Highlander one for two years. Just inflate and deflate as you got. Even if you forget to deflate, as it's 3/4 it seems to manage to fold up nicely!

I've got an Exped MegaMat 10, not cheap but very confortable, inflate to your preferred firmness. It live on my Wychwood Tacticle X along with Fortis bag and I've had it for a few years now without issue.

One company I would not recommend is Multimat ,I've had a couple of them and both valves have failed on me ,customer services in that company ,very poor

Multimat ,are true Sim ,not to be confused with full blow up thru hiker or wildcamping mats..

I recommend the Thermarest adventure mat ,coupled with a speed inflator/deflator, the deflate option game changer ,sucks air OUT ,quick ,which allows super reduced pack size, I never leave on a bedchair or sleeping bag for that matter..

Here is a idea, maybe purchase a large luggage compression bag ,put sleeping bag or whatever, use the mini pump to reduce pack size on barrow, storage etc..obviously you don't keep a sleeping bag scrunched for long periods, due to potential loft damage ..

Mountain equipment or thermarest, both excellent. Try to find one that fits inside the thicker outer padded surround on your bedchair. I use a ME glacier 5.0 on my wide solar sp bed. The 3.8 fits a normal size bed.

Thermarest are very good and it's reflected in the price. There are quite a few at 60cm from different manufacturers, I looked a while ago.
Personally I now use Outdoor Revolution as used by a lot of camper van owners but before I had the Mountain *Equipment Helium 3.8 as rec by Gerry on here but it's sub 60cm.

Have a good look at reviews, the new trend is for cyclone valves and some get terrible reviews, but, you really do need to keep them dirt/grit free or your asking for trouble, imo if you leave the valve open on packing up it'll fail.

I'm thinking of a new layer but I'm looking more at memory foam toppers or standard toppers in 2.5-5cm, bit overwhelmed by the choice tbh, just Argos for eg.

Edit, * said Warehouse 3...wrong!

3/4 length sim from thermarest.

My sim is only 3/4 length and 50cm wide but it almost fills the centre width of my bedchair and supports from shoulders to below hips, thats where all the weight is.
If its too wide your body weight will push all the air to the side and it will just bottom out.
If its too long the same happens...

I got mine in Millets, found one that fits within the raised padded surround of the bed, no carp tax and makes my bed really comfy

Ive used a mountain equipment and thermarest one for years with no problems. The wife has a cheap one and thats lasted years as well. At the end of the day its a foam filled inflatable mat so any of them will do.
