@vossy - Wilders support is in decline, because right wing populism isn't intended to benefit normal, working people.
It was meant to be a coalition government until it fractured, so you could choose to focus on any of the parties leaders. I don't like 'far anything' but my relatives in the Netherlands feel stretched and I wouldn't say their thoughts on the subject are in decline, the reverse in fact. Much like the folks here, their liberalism and kind nature is being used and exploited, that's the only way any 'far' party gets a look in...thank god.*
Edit, apart from recession & desperation, then there's usually a war that sorts it out, those ingredients are very much in the mix right now for a economy reset...how convenient.

It doesn't have to be like that though, hence the discussion. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anybody out there that people can really get behind on either side right now.

The Greens are surging in the polls right now. With regards to there only being a “slim” centrist position and extremes at left and right - that's more about what we're exposed to day in, day out in the news, media/social media but not representative of the population which will have views that span the entire range and everything in between. That's why FPTP is so sh*t and nothing ever changes. I am more than happy for MP's of any persuasion (far left or far right) getting a seat if people vote for them, provided that it's purely a numbers game without gerrymandering with boundaries, etc etc - true proportional representation and vastly more democratic than the current system.

Their surge will be down to the ' Titty Whisperers ' recent announcement that he would legalise all drugs should they gain any power. His terrorist supporting deputy would also be followed by his 'community' who are always up for a bit of dodgy postal voting.

The surge is down to his straight talking, I would say. He also mentioned that it would not be a priority were he to be elected, it was just something he was asked a question about.
With regards to the decades old, failed war on drugs, something needs to change. At least there's someone now with the balls to come out and say it. There's a lot of tax to be made, look at the US and Canada. I was in Netherlands recently and it's amazing how much more mature the discussion is out there. One day the UK will be ready to have that discussion aswell.
