Hello guys and gals . Im getting on a bit now and starting to have trouble getting through the low entrance to my Tracker bivvy . So I thought I'd ask if anyone can recommend a bivvy with an opening where you get in with out having to bend yourself in half .

Ps I'm 6 foot tall and a bit round .

The newer trakker tempest range are all taller, I moved from a 100 brolly to an RS brolly and it's a lot easier to get out, coupled with a longer legged bed chair it makes a big difference for dodgy backs.

The downside is the price, they aren't cheap at all, even now I can't believe what I spent on a tempest brolly and accessories

I went from a tempest 100 to a tempest 100t, and back to a 100.

The same footprint as the 100, but the 100t seems cavernous, loads of head height if you sit on the bedchair, and door height.
Just too tall for me.

I know exactly your problem.
I am 6ft1, and a little over 16 stone, maybe more since Christmas.
Nash Titan Hide XL Camo Pro.
Bivvy height 152cm and door opening 130cm.
Been using the above for last 4 years and can't fault it.

I'm keeping my eye on the new Fox Frontier XL for your very reason, but I'll see how it gets on in the real world for a while 1st

For the same reasons I have a Hide XL, but as mentioned below the door opening is 20cm less than the high point. Still far better than you average bivvy height though. A lot more expensive but I'd go with the T1 if I were buying again, or take a look at the Wychwood Tactical Epic bivvy (not the older tactical with the weird square shape) which looks very good spec,s and height.

Compact bivvy with high and wide access? IMO Ultralite all day long - the benefit is the overall height / highest point is pretty much parallel with the door opening (142+ cms) I'm 6'1" and the visibility is fantastic (no stooping etc) - you can sit back on a bedchair buddy and step out without clipping your head . . .

Saying that new Tempest RS Bivvies are all higher now - RS100 has 145cms but door opening is slightly lower at 135/40 cms

T1 Pro has the highest door for a 1 man I think. If I needed a higher door it's what I would choose.......

Have a look at the Quest Defier as a cheaper option. My tempest broll y hasn't been out of the garage since I bought mine.
