Very tempted to get a set of the new ATTa alarms, but done some searches on here and seen some complaints about a rubberised coating on both the heads and receivers going sticky over time. Is this an old problem which has been fixed, or is it still an issue with more recent/current models?
Too early to say for the new ones. I have lots and lots of the original type (not underlit) and whilst my original set did get sticky, they're all fine now - properly seasoned.

You can buy spares if the fronts go sticky quite reasonable price they are great alarms

With my original set, yes - the others I bought in pairs or as singles second hand and can only assume they'd already been through the "sticky" process before I got them! Never had an underlit one.

the receivers also go sticky. i think my friend has treated them with a light brush of alcohol which removed the slight tackiness, maybe worth a quick call to gardner? not a huge issue IMHO.

Had that with mine aswell. Origional receiver and heads with LEDs. Slight tackiness to the coating. Nothing that prevented them from being used.
A friens of mine also had that happen with his Fortis Amber wrap sunnys. The coating on the arm went all tacky and started to come away..

My Ford Galaxy steering wheel also does it in certain weather conditions lol. Most days it's absolutely fine, other days really annoying lol

I've had the undelit ones for at least 4 or 5 years and they are fine 👍

It was the same with the rubber coating on the Fox NTXR, common problem, easy to get rid off with alcohol and a bit of rubbing

Happened to the coating on a couple of my Canon DSLR's.
I used hand sanitiser, got plenty of it left from COVID era, I guess that has alcohol in it. Took a while, but nice and clean/smooth now.
@Baitman: I also got a Chinese leather steering wheel cover, mine you just had to stretch over, it was tight to do, but never twisted/moved in about 5 years

Not had a go trying it for size yet, soon though.
