I get this is a bit random ... but bear with me

I have small transom area on rear of my boat, which is proving tricky to find away of supporting a pair of rods.

I dont really want to use a pod as there is only enough room to position it in one place.

I have tried a small tripod but unable to secure it.

I dont want to drill into the boat itself as there will be times I need to position the rods differently.

My latest idea is to secure a bank stick into a portable parasol base .... Unfortunately the the screw mechanism you would normally tighten to secure the parasol brolly pole doesnt tighten down enough to lock a bank stick (i have tried chunky sized bank sticks).

Anyone have any suggestions of a work around or have an idea of how i may get a thicker diameter bank stick?

Get a longer pin, put a bit of buffer in there if needed and job done. Or drill through and put a similar size pin either side? This will help get it straighter a lot easier.

Tap and dye the metal up right below the locking collar. So toucan thread in a locking nut. Like you would with a bank stick insert.

Or if the wall of the metal upright ain't wide enough for a thread. Maybe drill a hole through the upright and bank stick so you can secure it with a split pin.

Put a normal bank stick in the upstand part and then fill it with expanding foam.

Could also mount a couple of vertical plumbers pipe clips with mastic or grab adhesive or sticky pads and wind insulation tape around a bank stick u til it's the correct thickness.
15 mm pipe clip shouldn't need much tape on it to work.

Will think about some other ways..

Just get a couple of small wedges/door stops etc put the bank stick in then the wedges to secure it 👍

Not what your asking but I have seen clamp on boat tripods, might have been in a Nash vid, totally out of the way then

You could use some epoxy glue poured in with the bank stick.
Failing that if money isnt a massive issue you could get something custom made like something that clamps onto the rail with three threaded heads to screw alarms into? I know what I mean anyway 🤣

thankyou everyone - It prompted a bit of common sense thinking on my part .... Ive gone for a few wraps of Gorilla tape which seems to have done the trick! ..... im not sure the "look" will catch on though

If in doubt gaffer or cable tie it. Nash will be releasing something simular soon.
