Never worry about best by/before dates as they're just a guide. It's the use by dates you need to take notice of but not sure you get them on bait.

If it's not rancid go for it
If you blank blame the bait
If you catch a shed load don't tell anyone lol 😜

If it's not obviously gone rancid / rotten use it.

Non issues. I have some over 4 years old. Caught on them on my syndicate. Contacted people who are long term users of S7 and they said should be no issue. Just add a bit of liquid food if you feel you need to.

That sums it up, I'd use them. My only concern would be oxidation of oils which you'll be able to smell, but who's to say that isn't an attractant to the fish. Don't impart human values on a fish

Cheers for the replies guys. With smart liquid and flakes maze and corn think should be fine. Least i have an excuse now if i blank 😂
Best before dates on bait are to comply with European laws so they can be sold in Europe. There is no law in the UK afaik, to cover the same so yea just ignore it, it should be fine.

Probably done the best thing crumbling it up, far more palatable. Rock hard ready-mades are not the one in my opinion.

Exactly, I think I blanked most times last year on fresh or older bait (I had a shocker). Although I mainly use frozen (fresh or refrozen twice max), and just a few shelf life of the same bait if I'm fishing further out as I like a soft bait for closer in work.
