Another Angler lost to this past time we call Carp fishing. Catcher of big carp both sides of the Watford gap. Rest Easy Bernie Lofthus.

Seem to remember a time back in the late 80s early 90s when every piece of carp literature I picked up Bernies name was mentioned by the likes of Maylin, Selman and Paisley. Was one of the North West finest anglers for sure. Long live the Shrewsbury specials...

RIP Bernie - I guess that it's only those of us around in the 80's/90's really recognise the name, used to love all those early stories.....
Bit of a shock as it seems as tho it was only a few weeks back that he was posting about the embarrassment of the noise with baiting up with Geoff's 30 millers. Seemed to do alright on them though!

He was also an active member on the Northern Monkeys forum, but was always getting banned then showing up under assumed identities
I met him at a few carp society regional meetings and also at yateley north lake.
Messaged a few times too. A sad loss.

RIP Bernie.
Met bernie several times on the Cambridgeshire rivers, where he fished for pike, zander and perch, believe he also carp fished locally. RIP Bernie.
