Always used a pod but bought some jag banksticks not long ago and wondering whether to get some stabelisers for them. Do they actually work as Ive always thought they were a bit of a gimmick as the pin that goes into the ground is tiny and very thin so cant really see how it would help. Also do you need one on the front and rear or just the front?

Yep they do work and stop the bank stick twisting just need to make sure the inner and buzz bar are tight as well.
I only use on the front.

Yes they definitely do stop banksticks twisting or even tilting over.

Yes they work well, I mainly use one on the rear bankstick to stop it twisting on a take but also do use one on the front.

I find them especially useful on front and rear in gravelly swims where the bankstick goes in but still twists due to not as much grip on dry stones.

The pin only needs to be small due to leverage.

So yes they work in stopping the outer of the bankstick from twisting but it doesn't prevent the inner of the sticks which your buzz bars go on from twisting. You either have to make sure the inners are really tightened to the max or get banksticks that have a flat inner edge

I find that banksticks with alloy inners grip OK, being softer. I had a small flat ground onto the inners of my stainless sticks, just have to ensure the locking screw is on the flat and no more twisting.

They definitely do work if I'm using banksticks I always use one

Or spend a couple of minutes with a file to make a flat. Easy with aluminium inners.

Yes they do work.
I prefer single bank sticks to a pod or buzz bars but having stabilisers makes the set up secure
