Have joined a new carp lake and looks like my esp cradle doesn't have high enough sides so looking for an actual proper cradle ( not a pop up one, or a roll up one etc).
Lake has fish to high 40s so figure I may as well get a larger one that I can use for this place and also France.
Must be well padded all around, and weight isn't a huge issue as it would be on a barrow.

Thank you, I actually have a JRC high care mat that's been in my loft for about 15 years and is pretty much identical to that.
I don't use it as its really bulky, retains water when wet ( have to dip mats at new lake so even if I don't catch it will get wet) and just generally a bit of an arkward shape to carry / transport etc.

The padded base part is removable and I believe the whole thing is waterproof. Having said that I've never used one as I prefer the mk2 flat matt but my mate rates his cradle very highly and it does look very good quality.

Sonik SK-Tek Framed Cradle is very good padded around the bars. (Best i have seen/used so far)

Another vote for the SK-Tek. I've had one for a couple of seasons, packs flat in a good supplied bag too that you can put other stuff in (sling, collapsible bucket etc).

It is huge, fills up the Golf Hatchback boot, on top of my trolley, day chair, but also doubles as a trolley carryall.

Yes, I got mine as a subsidised angler, but honestly it is one I would choose myself.
It has had the abuse of a couple of years use, pike to over 20lb, and carp to 30lb.

I have this mat, and it's a great bit of kit. Most importantly it is second to none with regards to keeping fish protected. The bottom does come out and I find that it dries out fairly quickly; no longer than my Combi Mat anyway. It is huge, but fits perfectly on top of my chair on the barrow, and everything else goes in it, and as such is very convenient as it can all be lifted in and out of the car in seconds. Anyone needing a mat like this who has fish care as top priority can't ignore this one.

Nash carp corral cradle is decent that's what I use or maybe look at the new avid folda cradle that's a padded high walled cradle
