Can anyone recommend a decent summer bag for now until September time? Not looking for mega expensive just something for the warmer months.

I recently bought a Snugpack Navigator. It might be a bit small for some, at 800mm wide and it doesn't attach to the bed, Ive never really got why a bag should attach to the bed. But at under £40 it suits me fine. One other thing, if you use the zip it needs modifying to make it a crash zip.

Smugpak junglebag,...you can unzip.it and use it as a quilt ,or secondary layer in a three season bag for winter..
Mine is currently stuffed in a Regatta 65 litre ,bottom section of the rucksack, so it packs well..use it for overnight river pollution monitoring right now..
However,...I always take a cheap top and bottom layer as well as in the morning when the temps drop ,first thing you can feel it,a bit...but if your young ,...its fine,good bit of kit on the whole..

Seems to be a gap in the market for summer bags. I tried just a bed chair cover over the weekend, but the solar bed has a really course fabric on it so definitely needs a bottom layer. Used the cygnet bedchair cover as a bottom layer which helped, but the other cover i had was still too warm. Seems like such a simple thing for these companies to bring out, but only fox seem to do them and they are only for their beds with the zips

It probably goes against the grain, but simply put, in Summer, you do not need a sleeping bag, it just seems to be a fad that you need one.
All I have used over the years, has been an army surplus wool blanket, or a bed chair cover, or my recent purchase a few years back, a poncho liner. Usually I take the bed chair cover and either the blanket or the poncho liner.
Plus, a good blanket is ideal to wrap around yourself when you sit out on a cool Summers evening into the dark.

Sorry but we do live in the UK!
Fair enough you might not need one, but I certainly do. It's hardly a fad!

Well I hate to tell you but if you want a proper Summer one season sleeping bag, you will find that it is no thicker than a blanket, bedchair cover or a poncho liner.
And as for the Snugpak jungle sleeping bag which are ideal for summer use previously mentioned, it too is just as thick as the aforementioned items, I have three of them and on rare occasions use one for fishing and just open it out to use as a blanket as it can be to warm to use as a sleeping bag
So basically, your requirement sounds like you need more than a "Summer" sleeping bag to keep warm during the summer months, otherwise you will freeze with a normal Summer bag.

How warm do you find the defender? I tend to overheat when asleep so looking for a 3 season bag from spring to autumn but it needs to be fairly light. I have a thermal cover I can add to it, when it's hot I'll just use the cover, or nothing at all.
Been looking at either the defender or fox EOS 1 but can't really find reviews on either.
Happy to pay more but just a real lack of 3 season / summer bags

I just use a bedchair cover but I do have a snugpak jungle blanket in the car just in case it turned cold on the extremely rare occasion

I'm with Zack, a sleeping bag cover is good enough for me. I've been sleeping under that for 3months now without getting in the bag.
If it does get cold the bag is there, but I simply haven't needed it.
Admittedly first thing on getting up I do put on a fleece or light jacket until the day warms up.
