what reels would guys recommend for some 10ft rods, i have some shimano ci4 1400 xtb on my 12.6ft rods. not sure if they would look to big

For the money hard to beat the Okuma inception inc 6000 for £50 each and pair up great on 10ft rods

I have Okuma 6000's on my 9 foot rods, work brilliantly
They have not caused a problem all year.
Bought a set of 3 for the price of the 5500 xtd.
No brainer, quality reels and look good with wooden handles.

1400 sized reels on smaller rods are complete overkill.
On my 10ft rods i use shimano xte baitrunners, but the okuma 6000 would be fine too.

A lovely set of reels that I use on Stalking rods and 10 footers are the Daiwa GS 4000 Ltd Edition Reels with an easy QD conversion.
Alot of reel for the money..

+1 other than a relatively slow retrieve I've been really impressed with these.
Done the QD conversion even though the clutch was pretty decent anyway and got metal line clips.
Handles fold properly too 👍

Okuma 6000 are perfect ... i find anything bigger/heavier unbalanced .... my second choice is 8000 XTR RA Super Baitrunners but they are a tad heavier
If you like the reels you already have just get the 5500 version of them, I would maybe look at some ci4s 5500 they would match them great and they are very light, if you like baitrunners maybe get some medium size baitrunner

I'd use what you have , I suppose it depends on how seriously you take fishing with
shorter rods ,some just buy a set for a particular water etc

I prefer using 10 footers. I bought them for a really overgrown estate lake I fish and now use them the vast majority of the time. I struggle to fish as effectively as I would like at distance so they really suit me. I use the ss2600 on mine.

If you're fishing close in which I assume you will be, I'd go even smaller than a Okuma 6000.
