A number of companys do marker float kits .... anybody tried a couple and found one where it pops up everytime it should and good for range ?
MCF make the best floats. You can get them in Johnson Ross.

Its generally not the floats fault if it doesn't pop up
If you really want it to pop up every time make sure you have a long boom on the lead and don't ever fish in weed or silt

Sometimes the leader itself can make a big difference some supple braids even in 50 and 60lb can twist during the cast and stop the float coming up, stiffer braid like some of the snag leaders or mono leaders are a lot better.

Sometimes the float not popping is telling you more than when it does pop. As mentioned we could give you a set up that will virtually pop every time but that could actually be counter productive.
I generally don't use a tail to start because if I can get it to pop this way then the bottom is easily presentable. If I'm getting a drop but no pop then I will start to look at adding a tail, this is generally weed. Thick silt can give you no drop same as weed but it will be even worse to get the float up with no tail as the float buries. Add a tail and you will get an easier pull as the float is not buried and the spot will feel completely different. Also don't forget to have a go with a grappling lead as this pretty much confirms everything👍

Think my phrase "pop up every time" may have been misleading.
Was more after a "this kit is poor because of x y x" or "this one has been great and no problems"
Am aware of the problems silt / weed etc have with marker floats (jeez I hope that doesn't come across as I'm a know it all).

totally agree with this - a braided heavy shockleader makes a real difference to the float coming up reliably. Thin braid can be a nighmare for twisting.

Nash Spot On marker floats, not had a problem in 2 years of using them.

They all should work fine, braid straight through can twist on itself, and not rise, as previously said.
A good tip is to always use a stiffish mono leader of 30lbs to attach the float to.

As mentioned MCF market floats are great, I do use the Korda stems and a leadshed marker lead. I also use the fox pre stretched tapered leader tied to braid with an Albright knot and have used this for several years. Braid on its own is crap imo, hence the leader and I've tried lots of different monos

A 12" float link of sbf really helps.

I have a number of marker floats, nearly all are finds, other people crack-offs with a short length of braid attached to the bottom of the float; Atomic, Korda, MCF, Fox and the favourites I actually bought, an ESP Mini Marker and a Fox Predator 25g Pike float.
Of all of them, the ESP is the best in weed, however, it is not the best at distance, low in the water it is difficult to see at any range above 50metres, which is where I swap to the pike float, which I have found to be easier to see than any manufactured carp marker float
I don't bother with marker float kits, a length of Amnesia in 20lb makes for my lead link, tied to a running lead run ring at one end and a Breakaway tackle Spinlink clip to attach the lead to at the other.
I always use a mono (Amnesia) shockleader to reduce the problem of crack-offs myself, and it stops tangles of braid twisting around itself.
I know this does not answer your question as it stands in its own right, but answers your question in as much as marker float kits may not be the best answer to your problem.

I found the korda balsa marker float as good as any 👍, I tend to use it without a boom of any sort, so if the float pops up then I am fairly sure that area is possible to present a bait, if it doesn't pop up I ignore that area or think about different tactics.
