In my search for car boot rods, I stumbled across a couple of 12ft 5 piece Fox Trek travel rods in a 2.5tc. They're built up on a lovely dark green blank and stored in velvety type rod sleeves. Lovely through action too 👍
Whilst not ideal for what I'm after, they were too nice to pass on so I bought them on the spot. Curiosity has since got the better of me and my internet searches for info has drawn a blank.
Does anyone remember these from a few years back (maybe 10-15 years old) and know anything about them?

Thought they were called trekker rods and around 2.75 tc

The trek were before then, i unfortunately found out when looking for some years ago as the trek were better i believe

Ask Ken,I believe he may have some,or similar..
I understand the John Wilson five piece carp rods are good as well,on the Vintage carpfishing site,there was or is a pair of Maver telecarps in carbon..I thought about it,then remember my promise to the wife,I'd only buy to replace,...lol

I've been back fishing for about a year - since selling up 6 or 7 years ago and reckon I've gone through 3 setups already 😂😂.
I've been trying the sell to buy route but keep getting lost on the way 😂😂😂.
Back on subject, they are delightful rod's for sure, but breaking and trying to store 5 sections really is a pita. Nevertheless, is Ken his forum name (still quite new here)

I have a 5 or 6 piece floater special, can't remember?, lovely rod, amazing action considering, still use it for floater fishing, just break it down into two and store it in a sleeve

I feel multipiece rods are so underrated, in fact of the two set up I use all the time,and both are very minimal,my course set up is perfect ..13fter multipiece float rod,JW Avon quiver travel,Tenkara fly rod,and fladen spinning tele...non of it is mega expensive, but omg ,so easy to store and transport..
It all goes in a two rod korum quiver..I'm getting ready for old man status fishing when I can't barrow or carry my minimal carp kit...
I always think ahead ..lol...

agreed. I have never had a fly rod break (most of them 4 or 5 piece ultra thin 2 or 3 weight) and they are put under loading hundreds upon hundreds of times each session thru casting.
I wonder if the multiple joints actually spread the load a bit and do not focus all the load on a single point like in a 2 piece rod ?
Tenkara (telescopic)- have bust a couple of those tho :( but only on big fish.
