Got a standard sized 3 door hatchback and want to get my hands on some 9ft 3 piece rods to fit in there. New office is right next door to some decent looking lakes that I want to explore👌.
In the old days, I'd be looking for some Second hand YACs, dymags, ET's or basically something custom built on Harrison's 3 piece blank.
From what I can see, there aren't many choices out there anymore - everyone seems to be using telescopic rods, Graham looks like he may have retired and Harrison may not make the blanks anymore?
So far in budget and new, Ive found a 3 piece Grey's rod and 4 piece Shimano lites and the auction site isn't throwing up many second hand options.
Is there much else out there 3 piece 9ft(ish) that isn't telescopic?

I have three piece Greys 2.75tc rods that are decent, nice playing action and used up to 80yards (i bought them for stalking/close range), couples with daiwa 2600 reels they are well balanced.

Thanks, I'll be dropping down from 2 piece 10ft's that don't quite fit in the boot so good to get some feedback on how one of the options performs.

76cms pack size in the smallest model, 98cms for the 'normal' sized rods . . worth a punt for the price point.
TX Lite variant more expensive methinks . . .Shimano TX Lite

I have a set of the TX compact from shimano
Good rods but a pain in the butt for folding up lol
They fit in a dymag stalker hold-all

all 3 piece and above rods are an ass to fold and keep rigged up . . .is there a miracle technique?

I wouldn't of thought you want expensive rods left in the car sonik xtractor good rods for the money I've had Harrison three piece a lot of faffing around when setting up and breaking down xtractor much easier

agree the faff would be a pain . . .Soniks look good for £ but much less compact (even tho less faff setting up)
Someone needs to invent a simple rubber clip system perhaps that allows for 3-4 piece rods to be made up without tangles etc . . I regularly carry a 3 piece 13' trotting rod with my barbel gear but with finer / fragile floats lines it can never be made up in advance . .

Faff is worth it for me, rather that than telescopic to be honest.
In the old days used to use TA wraps to hold them together middle wrap first then wrap the bottom, then move middle wrap to top if you only had two.

Yeah just keep the reel on them , how long does it take you to rig up a rod ? I used to change hooks after each use anyway when i fished for carp . The three piece harrisons will last a lifetime , the telescopic rods wont .

Probably what was causing more of a faff was t had the ta two rod stalker sleeve and the extensions but personally I wouldn't buy expensive rods to leave in car
