A very sad but extremely brave post this morning by Iain explaining that he has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Good luck Iain you can beat it mate.
My wife was diagnosed with bowel cancer 31 years ago,she had 90% of her bowel removed but she's still here today and enjoys a full and normal life at 63 years old.
It can be beaten I've got the living proof sitting in the same room as me right now.

I must be really out of the loop where carp fishing is concerned, I don't have a clue who this fellow is or most "famous" anglers mentioned on this forum, don't do fishing magazines any longer, facebook or any carp related websites apart from here so that is probably why.

Please if anyone gets the letter from the NHS for a lower bowel colonoscopy, take them up on it!
I did it doesn't hurt and the embarrassment factor far outweighs the thought of it. 2 mates i know have turned it down because apparently they are real men and that will see them through! Yes its a pain in the proverbial having to do the home enema and then straight to the NHS, but the staff were reassuring and the support you get is great. To quote the triage nurse its a bum job and is a hard day at the orifice. They have seen and heard it all
