Not aimed at you, but generally to your point..
With the assumption that both are safe, which contraption is a bigger departure from traditional course fishing towards catch at call costs..
A small piece of plastic that by general consensus on here does very little, if anything to aid hooking and in turn catching a fish.
A plastic remote controlled boat that allows anybody to drop a bait anywhere on a lake with satellite guided accuracy. The fish are no longer alerted by casting, can be located using sonar and areas that would be unfishable with rod and line and were previously completely safe refuge are now fair game..

I have no problem with a bait boat. A bait boat can help a disabled person to get out on the bank, an underwater camera on a boat is a different kettle of fish.

It's aimed at Facebook / tictok anglers who hope to shortcut success , because as iv posted before you can never know if you have caught because of using it or not as the trap will be sprung 🤔.

Yet we post from our ivory towers about a aid to angling yet a traditionalist would call us out too, where does it stop. The comment about those watching certain programmes is exactly right, it's a mentality and there is, in my mind, a traditional modern angler, this forum has lots of them. I fit i to that category but I won't critique the Tiktok generation, who am I to say what's right if fish safety isn't compromised.

I got no problem with a bait boat that can help a disabled person, just not happy that some instant angler that can't cast using one.

Even if you are brilliant at casting the person with a bait boat still has 50% more chance of catching.
I think you should say if you used a boat when posting catches. 🙂

A boat is only any good if you sail it to where you believe the fish are / might be - the same applies to casting . . . on my lake I'm an average angler, can cast to every spot but still use a boat by choice because I want to. My catch rate is distinctly average; there are better anglers who don't use boats that catch more, and noddier anlgers that do use boats that catch less . .
Work that one out

Even good old TH uses a baitboat 😜
Iv not really commented about it's safety , other than it's an extra bit of plastic the wrong side of a leadclip , adding 2 extra swivels at least to the rig . Personally it a moral thing , it's one clever dick away from coming out with a super version , or 2 added together, or variants that step over the line further.
