Its a funny old thing because i always say each to their own but....dont come moaning to me when your selling the big issue with nowhere to life....no savings...no pension... no equity just because you took the easy route and decided to bum on the bank. Marks post is spot on....very very few earn enough from fulltime fishing to have home comforts and a good life away from the bankside...because trust me when the chips have been down going home to family has got me through hard times not an album full of carp but il temper that by reiterating...each to their own.

Fully agree, it's easy to imagine it is all fame and fortune for the chosen ones; though NH has shown it's far from it if you read between the lines, if you can be bothered.
I'm perhaps in the fortunate position of having a job (business) that I love more than my fishing, and it's sometimes a toss up between 2 nights on the banks or pushing ahead with something going on at work, either way I'm fulfilled. Getting there though takes years, hard work and commitment, so a 'job' (read 'just over broke') in fishing make me think why tf would I want that? It's not a job, it's getting whored by those up the food chain that do have jobs and are earning, the anglers are their tools, literally in some cases..

Getting slightly back on topic.... I had to laugh when a certain angler, apparently involved in all this debacle, during an advert for upcoming video pronounced (sic) “carp but on steroids” either he was taking the piss or it completely went over his head!! 😉

Is that the one where they've done a video on a lake which is virtually a garden pond titled the power of the worms and catching doubles? I've only seen the trailer on Facebook but couldn't help but laugh at this video surfacing after the BCAC win at linear where they reported smashed it using worms has been put into doubt.

What got me in to carping was the unknown , people talked In hushed voices and I was not in the inner circle, plus I'm fairly ugly and could not get a bird
