He hasn't got a pot to piss in didnt they do a collection or something for him on his Facebook page a couple of years ago?

Not that I disagree lads, but I'd prefer to spend my life doing what I love than working all my life (like I have) and dying with a healthy bank account. Swings and roundabouts innit. All about balance I guess.

Certainly a balance, one night a week and being able to live a comfortable life and look after my family suits me.

Not sure why the only options here seem to be to either sit on the bank for 4 nights a week and be poor. Or get a decent job and work 50 stressful hours a week then do a night at the weekend.

Agreed I get bored after a couple nights when I fish . Couldn't do it full time. Spending time with friends and family much more important. Plus a bit of golf and drinking thrown in. I actually feel sorry for guys that just want to fish every day.

Agreed, apart from a yearly trip to France which is slightly different, anything over 48 hours for me starts to get boring, especially when your mates are texting to say come down the pub. But, I have no issue with those who spend their lives on the bank, it's their choice and everyone is different, it's what makes the world go round I suppose

Terry Hearn bought his house off his book sales and believe me, it's a small cottage. Worth a few quid now where it is but there isn't the money in sitting on the bank catching carp.
Everyone wants different things and if you could do 300 odd nights a year with no life outside of fishing, no family, no holidays or no lavish things, I suppose you don't need lots of money. Look at Nick Helier, he glamorised his lifestyle, I felt a bit sorry for him.
Personally, I'd rather work my arse off, occasionally going fishing among other pleasures but put a stable foundation in and retire early and go fishing when I want, if I want to.

It's all about a balance. Dont burn yourself out. If I had a job in angling I know I would get board and skint. I've seen time bandits on a few lakes, it becomes a slog thay get lazy eat **** talk **** and dont catch much

The days of paying consultants is over I think.
Why pay one man to sit fishing with your products when 20 more lads will just buy your things and promote for free. I can think of a few anglers who were paid in the past and they now find it hard to earn anything from fishing.
I'm happier working all week and fishing at the weekends. And fishing in the winter but working more in summer. I'm pale and hate the sun 😂😂
