It's never been lost on me that the ones who earn the serious wedge from the industry aren't the ones daft enough to be out on the banks four nights a week. There's big money to be made in this game, if you're not silly enough to think you'll earn it catching fish.

I don't think anyone is under the impression that you can get paid a decent wage just to fish. The higher profile seem to have titles like ‘media manager' which I guess they get paid a wage for. Add two or three of these ‘jobs' together and I'm guessing you could scrape a living.
I'd rather have a career that means that I'm comfortable financially and can fish without anybody knowing who I am or what I'm doing. Each to their own I guess.

I buy what bait and tackle I want to use
Aqua NGT Cotswold it's my choice then
And I even put it all in the same bag shock horror lol
Maybe it's not an illegal substance but they have found a decent quality and amount of CBD oil to use.....
Hemp is an attractor so why not
Have you seen how many carpers are hanging around 1 spliff lol

I will bet you fishing did not pay for your home mate, you working hard in a real job for many years did that.
I have a son, if he had wanted to sit on the bank fishing for a living, I would have literally kicked his ass to hell & back. He works for a private paramedic firm, has his air ambulance certification and earns around £67k a year without over time. His current over time is for Netflix on the set of the Witcher. He earns VERY well for that. He could NEVER earn that sort of money by carp fishing... Not a chance.

I used to guide for £300/day. Boring as hell but with a tip.id take home 4. As an aside, some of the grouse keepers are buying houses with their tips at the moment.

There are very well known blokes in carp fishing, that have never done a days work in their lives. They have full timed it for 20+ years. Carp anglers assume they earn great money... The reality is they get £5-10k a year and were always on benefits. For some of them that money only started in the past few years.
There are only a very few blokes who earn half decent money JUST from sitting on the bank carp fishing. Most of them are on the TV and work for one company, and even they are working in reality too. It's pretty much only TH who can command decent dollar on his name alone.
Books can bring in sensible money. But even that bubble has burst.
