Of the books not so often mentioned I really liked Dave Levy's Fallen Kings and also John Claridge's Beauties and the Beasts.

Dave Levy's chapter on the reservoir was fantastic. I haven't read John's but his articles were always well written.

Peck's was very good, surprisingly good. I really enjoyed it.
Not read any of his books. I remember his Carpworld articles that covered his time on the north met pits, brilliant, think they were his first?

Yes that bad mate. His first was ghost written by Jamie Clossick who did a good job imo. The second two are by Jim and he comes across exactly like he does everywhere else

I agree Yonny. His second book contains a lot, in fact a ridiculous amount, of quality uk carp, some great photography. Unfortunately the writing is aggressive, paranoid and a real turn off.

Adams stories are all well written but I got confused as he flits from time period to time period and keeps talking about a pb at the time, yet the previous chapters he caught bigger and were not pbs. I know it was intentional by him to be different but I struggled with that aspect of the book (I mentioned that to him and he appreciated the feedback) but he does write well and has fished some off the beaten track lakes which makes the stories a little more interesting

One thing about this pandemic is its bringing out peoples true colours, no more less than Adam's. The blokes an absolute weapon, and I would suggest that people take a look at his twitter account, before parting company with their hard earned cash for his book

Yes I have Oz's and Adams
Oz one is really good but totally agree with comment about Adams being really disjointed. I found it hard to read too. Felt a bit cheated that the Wraysbury section (which is excellent) is the same as he wrote in the Wraysbury Chronicles

I'm not on Twitter but i guess you're refering to his "covid denier"comments? - seem to be a few on Instagram too.
I enjoyed the book as a whole but understand the comments on jumping around....too many mentions of the carp gods and ocular calories !

Ironically I read Adam's book during first COVID lockdown and enjoyed it. I've had to block his retweets though as it was getting embarrassing. Some of the things he was sharing are the equivalent of Facebook pages giving away Range Rovers because they had the wrong coloured seat stitching on a page created 12 hours ago.

He is great on TV and writing about fishing but the moment he strays into politics, flat Earth or COVID he goes full tinfoil hat and I can't cope with that.
How TF anyone can believe the Earth is flat and be prepared to get on a plane and fly transcontinental is beyond me
