I can't say, against Forum rules and not appropriate to name people anyway. I suspect something will surface on social media, as I gather they intend to contest the fines. There's always someone willing to chance it - I know for fact there are bivvies on one water. It's very foggy today, so maybe they think no one will see them? Chap who runs that syndicate doesn't seem to care - he told a mate of mine who did the day for pike on the same water, 'it's up to them if they want to risk it'. Not so sure I agree with that, but as someone else has said, it's not exactly the first thing on my list of things to do in this weather... bloody freezing out today. I'll probably go lure fishing down the local river tomorrow - at least I can cover a lot water and get some excercise doing it

Fair enough.. All I will say if you have really got to go. If it helps your mental well being I totally understand. But for F@$is sake stay local limit your contacts keep your distance sanitize your hands. This s@#t is real. Only just lost someone close to me because of it

I'm not sure if anyone has already said this?
The word 'district' has been dropped from the AT guidelines, it now says you have to stay 'local' in accordance with government rules for exercising. There isn't any advice as to what local means, but there were several people fined £200 in Derbyshire yesterday for traveling 5 - 7 miles from home (not to go fishing).

It's an interesting one and open to misinterpretation as usual!
They drove 5 - 7 miles so the alarm bells should ringing. It seems to me it's from when you step out of you door your exercise begins!
I know Derbyshire police are having a crack down but 5 - 7 miles is virtually nothing!

Derbyshire police have issued a statement saying that all the fines are going to be reviewed and cancelled.After the two women went to the papers about it,thats what I heard on the radio yesterday

I can see why to be fair.
As usual nothing is clearly defined, put a 10 mile boundary on travel for exercise for example and some will travel 11 and 12 etc. There has to be defined restrictions to police it properly for me

As per the government website about staying local...Stay local means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.
It's all pretty simple really but many seem to want to confuse the issue and guidelines.

Is it not all relative? If you are allowed to go fishing, the police can't force you stop an activity that's allowed. If your nearest fishery is down the road or 10 miles, that is your local fishery is it not?
Not quite sure what all the fuss is about anyway, banks aren't rammed due to time of the year. Farlows has been quiet, fair weather anglers are all at home.
