I make you right about the testosterone! I didn't dream a thread about warming your bivvy up would bring out a load of macho, wannabe hard men, keyboard warrior types that can ice fish the north pole in there Y-fronts. Embarrassing really.
I did state in the post I didn't fancy gas and if anyone knew of another alternative. Also said it was for the purpose of taking my young son, so obviously all the more reason I wouldn't take a chance with gas.
Lot of stating the obvious regarding warm clothes and hot food ffs.
I was thinking more along the lines of one of the those Jackery battery packs that you could plug in a small 500 watt oil filled heater (obviously one with a cut out in case it toppled over before the lecturing starts) and if anyone is currently using or know of anyone.

I think that you may find these macho, wannabe hard men Keyboard warrior types that fish the North Pole in their Y fronts and state obvious things and are embarrassing are actually the people you are asking for help.
You have now refined your question to a specific type of heater and power source and expect these same people you laugh at and feel embarrassed about are going to help you?

Ignoring everything else.....
There are rechargeable hand warmers that are good, plenty on amazon for example like ocoopa or something.
Heat pads, stick on to clothes
Hot water bottle
Power stations, plenty from cheap to mega expensive that will run some sort of.
electrical heater in varying levels of power depending on ££ spent for capacity.
I have a small bluetti eb3a and now a much bigger anker 555, check the specs for max wattages

I thought the original post made it pretty clear to what I was asking? Would you not agree on that or do I need to be much more specific?
What I didn't expect was a barrage of patronising replies from the well hardened to the elements anglers from back in the day.
Maybe some of the posters hadn't read the original post and just jumped on the bandwagon for the sake of it.
For the record I don't intend to gas myself and my boy, Iv been carp fishing for 40 odd years and camping out for over 30, never once had an heater, pretty brushed up on the dangers of gas in confined, unventilated places (I stated in the post my concerns with gas) I was just asking what I thought was a reasonable question and you'd think would get a few reasonable replies 🤷🏼♂️

I think the crucial part of your original post is where you queried whether you were being over cautious or not. There subsequently followed posts that advised you to be extremely cautious, and avoid gas. So yes, your original post has prompted the response you have got. (I'm not talking about the anecdotes about surviving frostbite on the north face of the Matterhorn).
Bear in mind that this thread will be live and searchable long after we have finished with it, and raising awareness of the dangers of gas in an enclosed space will always be a good thing to do. Someone may find this thread in five years and not do something dangerous as a result.

So yes there is always a danger with gas hence the reason I wouldn't use it. The post was more asking for or anyone using an alternative.
