Hi there is this still classed as a van or people carrier? Sounds ideal if it has additional dampening/windows etc. Do you still have to take it to a specialist garage for mot or can anyone do it?

Insurance is a van, ferry is a large car, mot as a car, can also do do car speed limits.

Either a Hilux Invincible X or a RAV4 PHEV, depending on whatever I decide to take home ......
And I know it'll never break down / get stuck......

Ive never took a penny from trapping.
i do however charge alot to teach people how to kill, dress and cut up Beef, lam and Pork

I had this same thought a while back, needed seats for kids etc. settled with a VW passat estate and absolutely spot on with my decision. Swallows my gear no worries at all and also very useful when having to do tip runs etc. I wouldnt hesitate to get another one after this. I think its all down to personal choice and what suits you best for your needs.

I nick my wife's Nissan Quashqai to go fishing. Huge in the back with the seats down, high ground clearance (I take it across fields and over flood banks when I fish the Trent), 50-60mpg and £20 a year tax. Driven it 1000 miles to the South of France several times with the kids and all our gear plus 4 bikes on the back and it still did 50mpg.
We don't usually keep cars more than 3 years, but we've had it nearly 4 now and will be keeping it as it's so practical and versatile, plus really comfortable.

I have an old X-trail which is brilliant. I keep a bit of kit permanently In the boot - bedchair and barrow with mat over the top. I fold one seat down and can get the rest of my gear in, rucksack, rods, Brolly, bait, food etc. can still get a passenger in the front and 2 kids in the back if I need to.
I totally understand the practicality if being able to wheel a loaded barrow into a van, but I could t justify a van purely for fishing, with the lack of seats etc.

Always take holdall with me when car shopping. Couldn't fit holdall in back of ranger. Only way I could fit was in cab by putting passenger seat back and putting it across from back drivers side to passenger footwell. Currently drive a petrol AWD Sportage which fits everything in with ease.
