I am saying that the sim i bought is narrow, its 44cm at the bottom and 50 at the top, and i feel like it would be more suitable if it was wider. Ive never really understood why some of them taper off at the foot end. I dont think any sim is breathable.

They taper off at the ends as most are designed for the minimalist lightweight, wild camping ,bike packing or bushcraft market,whereby the sleeping bags are mummy shaped or the quilts that are now in vogue..ie tiny pack size
Some sims are also only three quarter length, as designed just to protect the torso on a long hike ,or cycle..
I put my multimat 25 inside my original aqua sleeping bag,and that's where the tapered sim comes into its own,it stops,for me,any so mentioned over body heating..

Thanks Ive ordered this one now, its 68 cm wide so will fill a lot more of the bedchair width wise looking forward to trying it out, thanks for the info .

Guess who just done a week in France on a blown up SIM.
I too wasn't impressed
Oh dear Simon sorry to hear this sadly its a common mistake mate people
treat it like an air bed not realising they are ruining the performance of it they just dont get how a Sim works
look forward to you trying it out again and giving an honest report

For some reason I have to sleep on my left side, I also have a bad back. I have a Nash ss3 bed and got a 10cm sim which fits the bed perfectly. Unfortunately it's too thick to fold up in the bed so I have to put it under the bag when I set up. It has transformed my time on the bank.

Ive always suffered trying to sleep when doing nights
I used to wake up feeling like id spent a week on the p*ss and aching everywhere
Spent fortunes on beds and sold them after a few goes
Saw Gerry post about these so bought one and followed the instructions
Honestly its a game changer if your struggling
Im currently using a SP C-TECH SLEEP SYSTEM and with the Mountain fitted into the bed I wake up feeling miles better then I ever have before ..... I still sleep poorly but Im a very light sleeper so its normal but Im not waking up aching
Never had any issues with condensation or anything like this at all .... Just a shame no camping/mountaineering companies have tried making beds as Im pretty certain they'd do a better job then most angling companies who seen to think by making it DPM covers up for all the inadequacies

My mountain SIM turned up last thursday so used it this weekend. Let it self inflate and decided to add a little extra air but have to say it was perfect.

why did you decide to add extra air
its NOT AN AIR BED
next time try it the way it was designed to work THEN in the highly unlikely you prefer it like an air mattress you can add air for the next night
I am only suggesting this based on a few years of using one and helping other people understand and get the best from their SIMs

what are you talking about .... He doesnt need to try without topping it up manually as he obviously wants it topped up 
. I know some seem to think you invented the idea of a SIM for fishing and that you are the oracle on all things SIM
It is perfectly normal and recommended to add air manually to get to a personal comfort level and it is perfectly normal for someone to prefer a bigger SIM than the model you are so passionate about. We are all different Gerry and people can decide to have differing opinions to you on this subject

It may be that now the SIM has been unpacked from its factory compacted state and used, the next time it's used it won't need the extra puff of air?
Next time it's used I'd try without before puffing
