With me, If it ain't broke....
Normally it is because I have to change because the time tested, reliable & brilliant product is now, for whatever reason NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Examples? Personally believe tackle improves year on year (apart from not being able to buy MCF eggs . . .!)

That was it - CM90
That was my no longer available product in 15lb or 18lb - simply a brilliant line, but no more

The fact that we're both saying it definitely makes it true!

Is it because everyone is looking for an edge, the holy grail that ain't really there
There has been a natural progression in tackle which I fully understand, bait quality has improved no doubt and so has the availability to the masses.
If I look at my own angling it has changed and evolved throughout my life and that is based around improving and looking for that extra edge, like most I've gone total full circle but if I had not I problably wouldn't have learnt as much and being one dimensional, I could still catch as much on 10” of ESP sinklink
All goes back to a bait that you have total confidence in, the fish want to eat it, a sharp hook, and rig length over the bottom for the most effective hooking arrangement for me
What you have on the bank means absolutely **** all, it just adds to your pleasure, drains your finances and lines the manufactures pockets
What's the saying, do I reallly need it, can I afford it and can I find it cheaper elsewhere. Sit on your hands and you will find you don't really need it and can save yourself a fortune. People are more konditioned than the fish, that's the problem
Tip from me, spend the money on your family, that's where the real long term pleasure is, memories

Well said indeed..
I think back to when was given some advice nearly 40 yrs ago now ,it still rings true today ..its called
Location ,presentation and ........bait ,in that order ..everything else is just tinsel ,and wheel reinvention ...latest example is shot on the hook ,bigger fools and marketing exploited, the weakness of a average carper, the masses ,the sheep who question zero ,fueled by youtube and basic marketing ....
Although my weakness ,is poles and cloth ..in green..!
