If I recall, Jim was an English teacher which accounts for why his books and articles are well written.
One of the words he despised being used in carp fishing, and he mentioned it decades ago was the way the word "Edge" was used. ie when someone would write words to the effect their rig or bait gave them an edge.

Kids using slang has been going on forever , but worse still is grown blokes wearing snap back , or caps back to front saying Bro , Bruv , Sick 😁 , mostly in well know tackle company's videos 🙄😁
