Must be very hard to look bored when you catch a huge new P.B.. Mr Dove must deserve an Oscar for that performance. Does he do his own stunts?. Watch out Tom Cruise. Dovey is coming to get your crown.

I enjoyed last nights episode, probably because I've wanted to fish for SA Commons for a very long time. So nice for a change to see lovely undamaged mouths, no need to angle those away from the camera!
I think it was in the early 0's Carpworld did a feature on them, possibly Tony Davies Patricks Globetrotter section, can anyone remember the name of the famous dam back then? Fairly sure it wasn't last nights location.
A interesting comment from the wife. She said the programmes lost something, it's not as fast paced (she was getting bored by the 3rd segment) or funny anymore. Though she didn't always like the antics of Ali she would like a bit more banter.
That's from a none angling pov, if she's thinking it I'm sure others are too, have they just reduced their target audience I wonder, only time will tell, I can't find any viewing figures for this season, only last. It did say series 7 episode 1 was the highest viewing so far, I wonder, capturing audience or Ali leaving.

To be honest, I think that that is what carp fishing has become, whether UK or foreign with some venues just wanting to be the World Record or UK record Holders, and loads of fish caught.
It's almost become soulless, unless you can find your own piece of heaven.
Monster Carp is better without Ali Hamidi, but I think that it needs a longer break, or even calling time, it's becoming soulless itself, just a search for 75lb or bigger fish, which is possibly why Tom Dove looked bored.
I guess I'll watch it on catch-up simply because there is so little fishing on TV.

I agree with the ending, my 9 year old even commented on it. I was looking forward to the SA episode but was very disappointed. It passed the time but nothing more and that trip and country could and should have so much more to show than they did. Missed opportunity

I'll be honest I didn't really enjoy this one at all, seemed pretty boring even Neil and Tom seemed bored.
I do enjoy monster carp normally just feels a bit forced and rushed this series so far, the ending was ridiculous

I have watched both of the latest series,if these were the only two I had seen I would not bother again.I was really looking forward to the SA one and was very disappointed.There seems to be something missing and they are not as enjoyable to watch

They should have edited out the last 5 minutes, and put in more catch shots. Pathetic ending I'm disappointed.

Ali might be a bit hyper but at least it's not all scripted unfunny jokes like it is now. The show simply isn't as good with just the two of them. Needs someone else in the mix imo and it looks like they feel that way too..

I think it'd probably run its course. 8 seasons of them sitting in a swim next to each other waiting for who gets the next bite. Its bound to get old pretty quickly.
