Echo that, it has been done for years but it sounds like it's the flavour of the month now lol
Can't see a problem with it myself unless they are disturbing other people swims or lighting up the banks all night. Like most things in life, everything in moderation is fine, enter the dickhead, different story

Zero respect for nature not just fish inhabit these waterways. The promotion of this activity on YouTube will only encourage bad behaviour, it's very difficult to impose guidelines and assume everyone will work within them.
Folk forget how lucky they are just to go fishing.

I used to regularly arrive at the lake long after darkness had fallen.
Nothing wrong with walking quietly round a lake with a headlight, but it must NOT affect other anglers.
I even confess to setting up when there was no-one else on the lake or nearby using my car headlights
It is far easier to lower a bait into the margins than cast towards an island.

I remember fishing a canal section of around 2 mile between locks and had a 20.8 mirror out then a 19.4 common out and a few weeks later was back down there again and a chap I'd spoke to while I was down there fishing previously decided to turn up as it was just getting dark and started shining a light over the far bank trees to get his lead there he was literally 10' away from my bivvy and decided to do a night and I blanked 😡😡😡 due to him shining a very bright torch around,of all that stretch of canal he set up by me.
It's the equivalent of an empty bus and someone sits next to you for no reason 😂😂😂

All the lakes I fish are busy with few swims unoccupied. There would be ructions if some knobhead went around with a bright torch. Imagine you have a bait under a treeline expecting a run before dawn and some pratt is bouncing through the bondoo adjacent. It's not going to end well.

Think it was some time last year I watched a Nash video led by their No1 poster boy AB. He was singing the praises of using a powerful headtorch to locate and i assume fish for spotted carp . Nothing new there but what irked me about it was , the venue I question was a stretch of the GUC,I know quite well and is a no fishing zone for various reasons..Admittedly it didn't show him actually fishing the stretch, but the implication was there. The Perch lamping was an offering by Alfie Russel. Interesting yes...totally ethical...... that's down to the individual..not for me tho.
