Really interesting and I had forgotten just how much he has contributed to carp angling.
His comments on nutritional recognition interested me. We know that there is some truth to the theory but it is not the whole answer. His description of a carp's hunger being nutritional rather than about being full or calories was an interesting angle.
Rightly or wrongly, I find it harder to believe a carp recognises good nutrition than that it feels “full” if it eats a meal that meets its current nutritional needs.
It shows how important the right choice of words can be. Which I suspect is a sentiment that would please an editor like Tim

I've never 'got' Tim Paisley. I could never quiet trust his testimony nor his opinion. His Editorials in Carp World were boring and uninteresting no matter how hard he tried. His method of fishing, plonking down and not moving for anyone leaves me uninspired. How on earth he can set himself alongside Jim Gibbinson is beyond me. Now theres an original.thinker...

It's not surprising Tim favoured “feed them and they'll come” tactics as he was well into his 40's (without all the modern comforts) when the carp boom started, and in his 60's when he started fishing Raduta.....
It's a double edged sword, carp fishing wouldn't be what it is today without his input, but there again, there would probably be less people on the bank!

Always loved Tim's work, I do not fish anything like his style of angling but i do match most of his thoughts on bait etc.
His early films Inspired many of us and he has done a lot of good for carp angling. I will listen to this podcast when I get an evening free

Got round to listening to this today. Glad i did too. His love of the fishing itself,his surroundings ,be they Fishabil,Rainbow or the Mangrove and of friends past and present shines through. His enjoyment of 'the moment' is why he fishes as he does. Its not for us to say its uninspiring as one post states.....that's your opinion. His editorial leaders in CW were the 1st port of call for many readers. Some went straight to Gibbo,others Cottam. Others may disagree with me, but without Tim's hard work/support network/fan base ,Carping wouldn't be where it is today. The variety of contributors and their styles of fishing made CW what it was.
