I have used anglers Log and I like it.

Fox Swim Mapper
Interface is good, albeit limited by the 'width' of the photo your phone can create for the swim in question (you could 'knit' images together or insert a widescreen variant) Placing markers in your swim can also be a bit clunky / annoying but with patience doable.
Used to be limited to 5x 'swim' credit with in app purchases for more so I didn't really bother with it (always historically used manual notes) however its now free and if you register you can log unlimited swims and share them (if you wanted to!) Think I might be giving this more of a go in future as its a nice 'visual' aid as much as anything else . . .

Simple Excel spreadsheet. I have recorded all my Wasing sessions on the same spreasdsheet since 2008, giving me a simple reference document to note when, where, weather conditions etc etc.

I use notes on my iphone as you can quickly insert a picture and it's relatively basic and simple.

Never remembered one of my pub chucks they all sound the same, so long as I hear a splash in the dark I know I'm in the pond.

I fished Taverham Mills and Earith Virginia Lakes, although I drew maps of the venues, I can still remember the lakes very well.
I wrote a complete breakdown of Taverham swims from the meadow all the way round some 10 years after for another forum.
