I was very lucky enough to meet him of pit 3 at frimley, dread to think how many years ago, it was before the commons topped 40, seemed down to earth and a nice chap
It just surprised me I suppose of that attitude of main A team and you should be off..
like others for me it's the water, fish and when I feel it's time to move ok

It is a load of rubbish. The idea that by continuing on a lake you are taking someone else's chance of catching certain fish is cloud cuckoo land. I assume there would be no issue if he fished it for 20 years but caught sod all?
If you are good enough you catch the A-team, doesnt make a blind but of difference who else fishes the same lake or how many times they catch.
Leave the lake so other people get a chance to catch???? At my last lake everyone could have left and I wouldn't have caught the 50!

Over the last few decades I have been to plenty of waters around the U.K. and now have to travel further and further to find good ones. I never set any figures or a cut off point when I will leave but two things drive me onto the next venue. Firstly, catching a target fish or several target fish, but normally the drive to go elsewhere and catch another carp from a lake I don't know!The fun of angling for me personally is learning the new lake and going in blind as such to work it all out. Some lakes it's all over within months and others can take a year or two. But I would never leave because it suited someone else. I have seen anglers stay on certain lakes for 10 years catching the biggest fish 14 times and part of me feels like it's an anticlimax for that angler to keep catching the same fish when others need to catch it but as others have said before, if you love the lake and you pay your money then crack on and enjoy it! The older I get the less I care about chasing very big carp from rat races where swims are a lottery. I need peace now and some nice fish and generally find solace in the winter! Move on when you are ready

A few points 1/ There is no ticket price 2/ He is poaching the lake 3/ He has put the lake on the map
I would imagine the local anglers aren't happy as the lake is now known to all. If you know it's pretty easy to work out.

I've fished some waters local to me on and off most of my life, I fish them for a reason, I still like them otherwise I wouldn't, simple in it
All down to the anglers personal choice, nothing to do with anybody else

I knew there was a reason I stopped following what big name anglers are doing.
I only really care for my own fishing, not what others are doing. We have made carp fishing a blooming circus.
I bet the local anglers who were under the radar and 'sneaking' in and out didn't advertise themselves.
