Any one heard the story of a 64lb fish being caught from the Manor in Essex. And was returned to the water at 29lb.. Go figure as the kids would say

Was it losing water or spawn.
I have seen stuff where fish are unable to regulate their water content, kidney issues, and they balloon up. They look spawnbound but its severe water retention.

It was water retention apparently. Angler forced the water out of it

I believe there's a fish in DDAPS known as the "water common" which loses fluid on the bank after capture.

Fish can do it when stressed too. I once had a Carp weigh nearly 2lb less from only 4 hours in a sack.

Then there's dropsy...poor buggers, lost a expensive Koi to that!

Think I need to go to "Specsavers", initially I thought it was someone holding up a "Long thin Fish" with their "Beer belly hanging out over their trousers and they was resting the fish on it
