I totally agree ban them yet another thing to be a nuisance that will intrude on people's lives

I must be getting grumpy as I get older but ffs, some of you lot are really helpful....not
To the OP, I don't have one but for a recent trip I really fancied the idea and looked into it
(private lake for those thinking I'd be peeing other anglers peace and quiet off...o.k)
The DJI are highly recommended but the price reflects that. There are a lot of comparisons on the web but tbh I'd draw up a list of what you want from the drone before asking about which ones are best as they all differ in features. You may want one with a 'follow me' feature if you're planning vlogging, or a auto return home feature, a stay on the spot while you cast, or auto take off for beginners. Also take a good look at the reviews, a lot of 4k don't seem to measure up and pan and tilt isn't on all, and up to you but you may want to consider staying under 250g (look up if unsure), and naturally battery life.
Can't be of more help, I'd be interested to see what you settle on though

Just to add, a subject I've not seen covered much in angling vids, polarising filters on the drone cameras.
There's a youtube channel called Bamabass, a American chap, follows his 5 acre pond build from start to now. Think in the last episode he's bought polarising filters for his drone, he's very impressed with the results when spotting his stock, worth a watch, for itself alone but also the drone

Yes you might be using one respectfully but there's a lot that won't sorry but they should be banned next thing is you won't need to go fishing a robot will fish for you

I use a DJI air 3 (not for fishing) and its a great piece of kit.
Has all the built in avoidance parameters so exceptionally easy to use and keep where you want it. Camera can do 4k video and pictures so really clear shots on playback.

I can't argue with that, I'd hate one buzzing around if I was on a lake even if used responsibly, but on a lake exclusive or a massive Euro water without bothering other anglers, I can't see the problem and imo they have a place

I don't suppose it says on instructions must only be used on a big euro lakes you have missed the point it's about privacy do you think it's ok for people who don't want to be filmed in there swims bivvys on the loo ect ect and do they want to be filmed in there homes and gardens peoples kids from a far where you can't see who is operating the drone with no choice without permission so I say they should be banned completely I've not spoken to anyone who thinks there a good idea
As for them buzzing around as a mate said can be sorted with a catapult a ball bearings look at the trouble absolute devastation they caused at Gatwick airport years ago as far as I am aware they never caught the people
On a average water using eyes and water craft requires far more skill

Let's be honest, drones are for desperate noddys who can't be ars*d to walk the lake and find the fish like a normal angler. No place for them anywhere near a UK lake.
