Has anyone ever had any issue keeping rods in the loft due to some of the extreme temperatures up on there in summer?

Better than keeping them in the shed I thought, but maybe not. ..

I've a few rods in the loft for years all still fine.. id say having no direct sunlight on them helps.

Have had upwards of 60 rods and probably 100 blanks at any one time in the loft without any probs.

Try fishing a lake, less chance of a blank, even though it might be a slim one on some lakes, you've a better chance than catching in the loft!!!!

Dont give up your day job, I build rods i dont fish for crap

I think if I had a cane rod,I wouldn't keep it in the loft,as said diverse temps could cause some kind of issue,delamination a set even even if it was hung up..

Worse case,a wobbly or bent Barder Bishop..

Exactly ...I'll.just shove my two custom cane rods and BB centrepin,Richard Walker magnesium copies ,up the barn, they be fine up there ,with the mice...lol

I will be honest with you i cant stand the things ive had a few and they are just horrible to use.I dont get the golden scale club malarkey , i feel sorry for chris yates he was born in the wrong century his tackle was just *****.Modern tackle is so much better to use .

Last time I used a cane rod was in 1975,was my dad's..

I love centrepins though and Mitchell reels,I use em on modern rods,...

I fish with a coupla chaps who use cane,and boy they can fish,no problems there, but ,yes I see what your saying..

I know some members of the GS ,they use allsorts of materials to fish with...myself ,I say each to their own ..,I appreciate the level of workmanship in the retro world,people like Leszak,or WM+,awesome awesome skills..

I love using centrepins , mitchells i was happy to leave back in the early 80s .I have acquaintances in the gs too fished at redmire with them numerous times in the past, took one of them 35 mins to land a 9lb carp on crap gear .

Those Braders are show pieces to display but not fit to use like a modern rod unless you want to replace them every few years.

I remember playing a 22lb carp for 40 minutes on a 10ft 1.75lb tc. Glass fibre rod. Was my pb for many years. However I could land it in 15 minutes on today's tackle... I wouldn't go back to those rod and reels. It's called progress for a reason.

I wouldn't due to temp ranges (v cold the v hot)
Put them in a rod tube and stash under your bed with the porn mags . . .
