With sanctions imposed on Russia and China looking like it's going to choose sides , should our tackle companies start looking at avoiding using them ?
A bit hard. Most of them will have to find new manufacturers for 90% of the range.

Tackle companies like the vast majority will use the cheapest supplier to maximise profits. If China actively supports Russia our government needs to grow a pair and ban all imports from China but of they won't.

The uk imports a heck of a lot more than fishing tat from China, if all trade stopped we'd be even deeper in the ****.

The West cannot afford to sanction China in any meaningful way. We do not have the production facilities to replace what we import from China. It will take many years to re-establish our production capacity. Until then we cannot afford to cut off China. We haven't felt the force of the sanctions on Russia yet, and it's really going to hurt soon and for the foreseeable future. This won't end in 6 months.Unfortunately.

yes, they should never have outsourced manufacturing there in the first place, they should bring production and jobs back home to this country.

I would not be in the least surprised if China has it with Taiwan while everyone is occupied with the Russian situation

That will never happen again. With minimum wage climbing yearly and cost of production etc if they do prices will be double for most things. And lets face it prices are already through the roof

Wouldn't mind through the roof price if I was buying quality built to last kit which would be far more environmentally friendly than the tat we end up with that doesn't last a reasonable time considering the cost. I've just done a two hour round trip to buy a brolly, got home opened it up and one of the short internal storm poles is missing, hope they don't expect me to do another round trip to take it back as they won't have a replacement in stock, think they should come and collect it and refund me.

Couldn't agree more I can't remember the last time I bought something that didn't have issues. And I constantly buy s+*& as bored lol.
