That's fatal that is catch too many from a 'hard' lake,yep that's a given,..lol
What about if you've got a nice set up.,or not so.nice gear,..?,or even worse you like vintage gear and dare to catch or outfish an established member,with all the gear .

Swim rotation has to be one of the worst, I booked 7 Fridays on the trot off work one year to get a going swim every time 😂. Then left by 11am Saturday....that was amusing.
Nothing like a bit of angling for bring out the old green eyed monster in people is there..

I hate that. Was on a syndicate and the majority of carp were caught from area commanded by 3 pegs. The same group of people stitched that area up for most of the season, I got in there for 1 night and caught well, woke up the next morning and was asked to photograph one of the A team from the next peg, that was occupied by someone different to who was in there the previous night and it turns out the previous guy was just camping to hold the swim for his mate to get in when he finished work. I didn't renew my ticket

One of the lakes I fish is like that the locals have all the best swims and they rotate with their mates. It's like the changing of the guard. It's nothing new I remember similar happening 40 years ago guys handing over swims to their mates and piling the bait in so that all the fish were in about a quarter of the lake. If you couldn't get in that area you may as well go home.

Met this guy new to the area,we was fishing a old estate pool ,now a horrid holiday park ..
We got talking,I learnt he'd asked the question regarding Otter predation on lakes in Devon,a big club..,he was a member ,but not fished any of the club lakes..
He asked the question via the club message board ,they banned him straight away,the club he then joined after ,was just as bad..so he ended up moving back up country,as the fishing he craved did not exist..
Nice chap though,experienced I thought..

I've been on a lake like that - over an hour and a half's drive and dominated by the locals who were piling it in at one end midweek, then stitching up the opposite end of the lake on a Friday night and hauling all weekend. At the end of their session they would pile it in again and fish the original end a couple of days later - this method was consistently rotated between about 5-6 blokes. . .Took me months to suss it out but as soon as did (on a rare 72hr session) I made sure I was at the 'right' end before they were, which pissed them off no end . . suffice to say I caught pretty quickly which pissed them off even more . . .
Part of the fun is breaking into the cliques (when your a newbie) after catching a few and then spreading complete misinformation to the miserable gits . . .these days I tell everyone everything (truthfully) and am completely transparent with bait / captures the lot on the basis that I'd hope they'd do the same for me (karma is def true in life) - most of the time however they probably don't believe me anyway lol so its karmic win win. . . .

its happening on a water near me in Cheshire,it is literally five minutes from my house with big fish in and I still would not fish it again.I go for a walk around alot and see the same people swapping pegs between them
