What rod protection are you all favouring? I'm currently rocking some NGTrod protectors, paired with their velcro bands 😂
All housed in my Fox, individual rod sleeves.
They've served me well but they're showing their age a bit and quite time consuming to unpack/repack...
What's the current thinking? Trending? - not that I have to follow the trend 😎

Think i have tried all the elastic ones, Peak, Tackle Box, Nash etc. Elastic goes on all of them after a couple of years.
So stick to NGT Tip And Butt Rod Protectors Deluxe Neoprene now, seem to last forever.

NGT ones are pretty good tbf - especially if your putting rods in a bag/sleeve anyway and hiding the brand 'shame' (lol)
I like the Fox Black neoprene jobbies - a bit more compact and tight - keep rods together tightly without the need for a central rod wrap (if you take your leads off before packing away)
The Trakker variants (which are exactly the same product albeit in green) are almost twice the price!

Agree, the elastic tip tops don't last 5 mins in my experience (especially the Nash ones!).
I moved on to the TA adjustable rod sleeves several years ago and they've been absolutely brilliant. So much so I bought a load of them for all my set-ups. They only have a short length of elastic which for some reason means they last literally years (my first set must be getting on for 10y old and still going strong).

Agreed. i recently moved over to the TA sleeves and quiver and love it, so much more versatile especially for different set ups. Even went the whole hog and got their Spod rod sleeve which is also great.

Last miles longer than tip tops. I don't even bother with a quiver anymore. Just chuck the rods/sleeves on the barrow.

I keep my rods in Tackle box single rod sleeves with esp neoprene tip protectors inside while travelling to the river. Take them out of the sleeve and keep the tip protectors on while the rod goes into the quiver if I need to carry a brolly, to walk to the river.
The tackle box sleeves do enable you to carry a rolled up net and landing pole (s) along with single banksticks. Surprising how much you can strap to them actually. I sometimes carry two rods but usually one, but even with two carried in the hand the sleeves add very little weight

No the Thinking Anglers wood sleeve does not contain the reel, the standard sleeves do though and I use one for my spod and marker, the draw string draws against the reel so it’s fully protected.

Ah, I'll need to purchase another then - because I only picked up 3x...
I've downsized from 5 to 4 rods, dropping a dedicated spod/marker set up - now just using 1x rod for both. Loop method for quick change 😉

Did they change the TA sleeves?
I bought one last week and it has an adjustment on the elasticated bit, then I bough three from another shop and they don't have that adjustment
The boxes are slighty different, but the product code is the same and the ones without the adjustable strap say they hold 12 and 13 footers
Wondering if a batch has possibly been made wrong?

All mine have the adjustable elastic like the picture on the right.
Ive had mine around 3 years and in Camflex if that makes a difference
