So I’ve noticed some subtle differences across my Infinity X BR selection (not all purchased together) that I’d not noticed before… The differences are on what appears to be the oldest reel. So, did they change over the years, or different manufacturing sites perhaps?
Things like graphics text colour and even a slight colour difference on some parts like the bail cover plates.

I've not noticed it on mine but I suppose subtle little things do change over time.
I'm scared to give mine a closer inspection now !

I believe they changed in the internals by using cheaper parts when they re-released them at a cheaper price (I maybe wrong but I'm sure I heard about it)

Just thinking aloud, but if your reels are different ages then sun bleaching on plastics and dye print may well be different on older reels. I'd expect them to be less vivid the older they are.

There is some fading on the plastic around the line roller, but the rest is definitely different, the most obvious being the text on the reel body is silver, and on the others it’s gold-ish! But the font is identical otherwise!

I wonder when they were re released. I bought my present set in 2011 iirc but I did have a set before then from the early 0's.

A quick nosey on Ebay seems to show some German listings stating Japan in brackets, some also appear to have more gold looking 5000 numbers, other silver.
Edit, do a Google search for "did daiwa reels change country of manufacture infinity xbr"
It says original manufacture was Japan, it will be stamped on the reel foot, later moved production to China.

And..... ....a lot of those Jap branded reels seem to have a much more purple hue to them on the German listings, that's ringing a bell with me....and I hadn't noticed it until you ruddy brought it up

Bullet proof reels that I sat behind for near on 20 years, happy times. The rival was the shimano big baitrunner when they brought that out, served a lot of carp anglers for many years these two benchmark big bits, quality, reliable and faultless, my mate had the shimmy’s a long time, think they are his pike reels now 
Then what, Daiwa bring out the Basia and since then they have all jumped on the bandwagon, super lightweight with cheap plastic bling (service / replacement). Couple that with a new model every year or two and all of a sudden carp anglers are changing reels more frequent than their underpants. Another carping scam. Kerching £

Had a pair of CTX 10' rods and bought a third . . .they were exactly the same albeit the whipping distance and decal above the reel seat were 20mm wider on the 'new' one than the other two . . . . .absolutely played havoc with my OCD . . .even ensuring it was always the 'middle rod' for symmetry I grew an unfathomed hate for that rod . . .it was certainly unlucky because I deemed it so . . .
Luckily managed to shift all three . . .and pass the bad karma on to another poor soul!

Still using original Daiwa 5000T's, Shimano Long Cast Baitrunners and 8010 Aero GT's all work fine after i dread to think how many years.
Could never convince myself to replace the 5000T's with the Infinity Baitrunner as already had the Shimano Long Cast Baitrunners although they are only used in France now tbh.
