Sorry, a really specific one, but does anyone know of any shops in their area (southern / midlands) or on your travels, that have the RS range out and on display? I was meant to get to the Big One in Farnborough a couple of months back but work got in the way...
I'm specifically interested in the 100/150 if that makes any difference

Tacklebox maybe? They quite often have bivvies pegged out on the front lawn. Give them a ring and I'm sure they'll put one up for you, or a couple to compare size etc.

Might be a bit of a treck for you but Carp Scene in Birmingham or Alfreton always have bivvies on display, great shops too..

Todber have a 150 set up a month ago when I went in, glad they did as it's over 3m wide and looked massive, got the 100 which I'm pleased with, had a Frontier XD before.

Any decent tackle shop will set one up for you if you ask them, and they have stock obviously. That way you can see it set up for yourself as well

@audiguypaul, thanks for that - it does look on paper, like a massive bivvy... To be fair, I'm 6'6" but I use a regular bedchair. I just thought I would benefit from a bit of extra room and not be cramped.

Ive got the 150 and its perfect for my wide solar bed. I personally like the extra width at either end. Might be a bit big for a standard bed mind.

I originally bought the 150 with all the trimmings. Good for France but too big for the smaller swims in the UK. Sold it and got the 100 which is more than adequate for the UK. I bught the social cap for my France trips.
Is anyone else finding the storm poles utter *****,the minute you try push slightly in the ground they want to bend

Has anyone else had the horrible noise when its windy and the rain gutter flap on bivvy hits the skullcap.I cant get the skullcap any tighter,I have to put a towel in between to stop it

I will admit I dont use my Peak in high winds as I have seen bivvies go flying due to peaks fitted to them. It aids as a scoop for wind to lift the bivvy in high winds and dangerous imo

I'm 6'3" and have metal work in my lower back, its not quite got the headroom of the XD but the footprint seems the same, get all the same kit in with the same amount of space. I really like the spreader block design, simple and goes up easy without any stress, find it much easier than the Frontier which i had for 4 years.

The storm pole are utter ****. Changed mine to the cygnet now trakker ones with the two thumbscrews. Tempted to get the jag ones but the spike on the end worries me a bit incase it pierces the material.

Can't beat the Fox camlock storm poles (if they're still available and without the auger points) with a pair of the Prologic quick release connectors. That would be what I'd try and get.

These are exactly what I replaced the trakker poles with, on mine.
Much much better than the chocolate trakker ones!

Still prefer thumbscrews. Ive got loads of fox storm poles in every size but never use them. Got the avid ones as well which are better than the fox and have the avid quick release adaptors on them and dont use them either. Always go to my cygnets with solar maglock quick release magnetic adaptors. Definitely getting some jag storm sticks though but I never use the front anyway so pretty pointless getting the jags as they will just sit in the garage with the rest of them but they are things of beauty.

. . .spoke to Carpscene in Brum this morning. They've got an RS Brolly set up in store but agreed they would be happy to set up both RS100 & RS150 in the carpark so I could get a handle on space / bedchairs / chairs etc prior to poss purchase . . .
