Hi guys,

I was wondering if you have had both the Speero and the new Korda Dark Kamo soft/cloth cool bags? If so, which do you rate better?

I just recieved the Speero, but I hoped that it would be thicker walled than it is. Last week I saw and felt the Korda one and it had thicker walls.

I don't know if the materials used in the Speero allow it to use thinner walls and offer the same insulation as the Korda, but I wondered if someone on here has experience with these?

Which Speero one is it? I have a black modular one and have found it to be really good.

Not seen or used the Korda one, but I have both the Speero ones (modular, and normal bag)

The sides are a bit floppy... But, I put a large icey tek cool pack in the bottom, which gives it some extra rigidity and then another one on the top, and it's still cold 3 days later.

In warm weather the Speero modular one doesn't keep things cool/cold. Frankly hopeless for more than 12h do just as well to keep it in your bag.

This time of year you don't really need a cool bag unless your on for a very long session.

Don't know about the Korda one, but the next I buy will probably be from a decent camping brand like yeti

Definitely not my experience. In fact I've accidentally frozen stuff in mine over the summer!

Perhaps your ice packs aren't up to the job? The icey tek ones are superb

My Korda 20L is as equally as good if not better than my Yeti Roadie 15, Whilst using the same ice blocks Quite disappointed if I'm honest. The zip on the Korda can be a faff mind.

I already have a Fox Aquos 'hard' cool bag in 15 liter. I plan to use it for longer sessions and/or with more bait/food. I would like to have the Korda for shorter sessions / less bait.

Oh those ones. I've got two of those, but I wouldn't use them for anything more than the odd pint of milk or any longer than a quick overnight. I store bait in mine.

Get the proper Speero one around £50

I've had both and to be honest theyre both rubbish,I still have the korda in the small and medium.They dont keep cold for very long at all,I use one for work and in summer its not very cold even after six hours.I only had the modular speero one that clipped to the rucksack and that was the same

Nor mine. I did 5 days in very warm conditions during the summer (27-31 degrees) and stuff was still cold-ish on day 4. I think the baffle around the zip helps. Keeping it covered up / away from direct sunlight makes a big difference. Quality ice packs are a must. The same could be said for any cool bag to be honest!

Theres no way the korda cool bag is better than a yeti roadie. Ive had both and the yeti is is in a different league. Sold the korda bag ages ago but still use the yeti and it will last forever. A soft cool bag will never out perform a hard plastic cool box.

All cool bags are crap imo, a proper cool box is far superior. And especially the tackle branded bags, none of them really work that well for more than a few hours, 24 tops

Not a carp fishing cool bag but for shorter sessions where I don't want to lug the Iceyteck around I use a product from Totalcool, they have 3 size options listed under cool bags.

+1 for the Speero Modular - I've got the clip on top section as well which is handy for keeping bait & food separated. Side pockets also store ALL my cooking and t-making kit including spare gas cannisters and various condiment bottles . . .

Best coolbag I've owned and far better than my previous Trakker / Thinking Anglers / Ridgemonkey Coolabox jobbies - used mine all summer on 48hr sessions and half-drunk liquids remained cool even for the car journey home. Also a decent height which is key - can store 2pint milk bottles / wine bottles upright . . !

Yeah I have the Roadie 24 also stay away from the Roadie 15 not great at all

Ive had both a 24 and a 15 roadie. Sold the 24 and kept the 15 as much better size for my needs.
