Hi all

Looking to treat myself to a new custom landing net

I've been looking at the Buzzard rods reverse taper net
Has anyone got one or had any work done by them before?

It looks like a decent net from what I can see online

Had custom nets before including dymags and got a korda springbow now and prefer that over all of them.

ive got a dymag and springbow and prefer the the dymag, springbow although light is bulky in the hand, more like a fishing pole section, the dymag is really thin,light and really maneuverable...edges it for me

Have You looked at Dobbins Bobbins nets ? They seem popular

I've settled on the matrix nets though, strong, light and mesh glides through the water nicely.

Not reverse taper, but I imagine if you asked a rod builder nicely they'd customise one for you.

Also got both, and I also prefer the Dymag. Weight of the Korda is impressive though and I suspect fitting a shallow net, which I'm planning on doing, will bring it to the level of the Dymag.
If I was hell-bent on going custom I'd wait for feedback on Dymag since it's been taken over, and assuming feedback is good - go for one of them with whatever customisation you want.

If price isn't important....

I had a Korda spring now but as mentioned I didnt like the thickness of the handle either

I have been in contact with Dymag for over a year now waiting for them to be ready to trade again but haven't heard back for a while

Considered a Dobbins as they do look good but wasn't to keen on the spreader block as can't imagine it's very lightweight

The Buzzard ones looks similar to the Dymag but wasn't sure on the quality of finish etc

Don't want to invest a decent amount of cash on something I wasn't totally happy with

If you want a thinner pole Look at the Matirx innovations 3k camo landing net light weight thin ridged pole decent spreader block

Think it will be worth contacting Dymag again as they have recently Changed hands and are trading again.

I did have one of these before and did like it but sold it to get the Springbow
I should have kept it as a spare

Just had a reply back from Dymag

He said is isn't quite ready to take orders yet but should be soon

I've heard really good things about these Chris Brown nets on here?

The dymag handles are quite thick. Its the thickness of the handle that i like as very comfy in the hand. Also why i like my chris brown net as has a thick handle. I hate bendy skinny handles like my hi s net had as they hurt your fingers there so thin. I never liked the spreader block on my mk 3 dymag net at all, i preferred my dymag mk2 and dymag stalker nets over the my mk3 as the block was much more user friendly. The springbow block is better than all of them though imo.

I've got a buzzard net it's the roamer compact version, Harrison 2 piece handle and arms, the quality and workmanship is superb, fantastic net, highly recommended

I have a few Inc matrix 3k, but the Chris Brown I just use all the time. It does not bend one bit, ever. If you are dead-set on a custom I can highly recommend CJS as a builder.. exceptional workmanship and a good guy (I say that having had the 'joy' of other more 'popular' builders previously)

Perhaps just build your own net, your perceived best bits aka triggers broom 😀

I've got a custom Torrix handle, built on the same blank as the rods. It's very light, stiff and stable but if I'm honest, not a patch on my Korda Springbow.
