In the market for 4 Isotopes. I used to Buy from Mr Fish on eBay but cannot find him or know even if he's still trading.

What alternatives do I have without spending a fortune.

Iirc, there are very few manufacturers of the isotopes chemical in Europe so the only actual difference is the age of product, ie, they get duller the older they are (1/2 life of active isotope).

So buy from seller with good turnover 👍

Yeah, he's the fella to get them off. Think he also has a website, not sure if there is any price difference.

Yep, same seller as in post 2

As vossy says the brightness is only determined by how old they are. All the tackle companies are talking crap when they say theirs are the brightest. I beleive mrfish and darrencarp are the same person and he sells loads so his are the brightest as they are the newest ones from manufacture.

I keep seeing folk replying to the original Gerry RIP thread who haven't been on here for a while , very sad 😔

I'm yet to find an isotope that I'd regard as cheap. They are a bloody rip-off for what they are. They do look good though. I've got the iceatopes in my bobbins but refuse to spend more putting them in my reel seats and alarms!

I bought these. they are well priced and just as good as branded type IMO.

The picture suggest the ends are a strange shape. They are not, they are the same as all the others on the market.

I remember buying a set in the late 80's or early 90's
Never felt the need for them again so never bought any more.
What are you all using them on?

You forgot net, snag ears & distance sticks .....and tent tags for that matter

I'm in the same boat as Framey, though I might have got them too for my 1st set of Rx's way back, when 1st released, but I can't remember for sure. I don't even use the night light facility on my alarms nowadays.

I know isotopes are a costly outlay buy given how long they last it's probably one of the more value orientated piece of gear, it's just the upfront cost as always.

There probably one of the best value items of tackle you can get. Where else can you spend £10 on something that lasts 10 years.

I couldn't sit behind rods without having isotopes in my swinger heads.

I'm the same.. they used to be on everything.. rod tips were the one. Ether wipped flat in silicon or Sat at 45°.. Apart from maybe indicators and rod tips there just an expensive tarty accesorie..

Must admit I like watching my penny whistles during the day and a isotope in them is just as much fun at night. I don't like advertising the fact I'm there at night really so isotopes everywhere isn't my thing, though I've been annoyed enough by bivvy zips to think about those zip tags.
