Have owned a NASH MF60 in various forms the lastest being the 4 fold.
So comfy have never been interested to change but I see a few manufactures are now making their top models with MF as well.
My only gripe with the MF60 is the weight. Nash gear is brill IMO but the frames must be made of steel cos the things weight a lot. No doubt built for longevity but getting older and even on a barrow the extra weight is starting to become a nuisance.
So I'm hoping your comments can point me in the right direction of something which is a lot lighter to make the change worthwhile but retaining the extreme comfort.

This year I changed from the standard Avid leveltech system to the ultra system, with the thinking that I'd be able to ditch the SIM. I've just ordered a thicker thermarest SIM 50mm. Not much help to you I know, but I've sat there a few mornings now with lower back ache thinking to myself, if it ain't broke and all that.

Yeah sometimes changing isn't for the best.
That's why I wanted to get everyone's thoughts to help a bit.
The cost of these things is ridiculous as well these days

So wanna make the right decision to keep or swap

Better off spending that money on a barrow conversion, then you can keep what you know works and make things easier for yourself as well.

I've just got the trakker MF HDR, I have a knackered back, even post surgery a couple of years ago, it's still not great.
Only done one night on it last week and good news was I had next to no back pain the following morning, however, I didn't think it was that comfortable. I'm happy to keep
Persevering with it as I took the wrong pillow and it was the first time of setting it up but if I'm honest, I was expecting more from the memory foam
To add, I'm fairly lightweight at 12stone so not enough weight to sink into the base, but it's nice to sit on sideways and the sleeping bag is superb. I've also taken the foot end extra legs off, not sure I need them on for the overnighters I do.
So for me, the jury is still out....

The trouble with beds is personal preference, what's good for some others don't get on with.
I bought a trakker oval system after seeing good reviews and hated it, sold it after 1 session, I have a benchmark now and I like it but again other people don't.
I like the sound of the solar dura dore with it being relatively light

I personally think its all bs - NO beds are actually 'comfy' after an elongated session, period.
Maybe if your an 11stone 18yr old that's supped a sixpack / burned an oz of gear and could happily sleep in a hedge maybe, but once you get past 35yrs its all a compromise IMO. . .
For me SIMs have been a revelation of sorts (thanks Gerry RIP), but more recently a decent pillow has made a much bigger difference. I take two, one being a contoured memory foam jobbie and the other to prop me up when watching a movie / playing with my toger etc
I generally stash the under pillow once I'm nodding off . . .

Having suffered with a bad back and having 3 lots of spinal surgery a comfy but light ish bed is a must for me. Currently using a Wychwood Tactical X in standard size with an Exped Megamat 10cm sim. The sim was twice the price of the bed and came with a small hand pump so it can be inflated to a firmness that suits you, for me it was worth every penny as its so comfortable, I'd buy another tomorrow. Mine folds up in the bed along with my Snugpak bag and all together probably weighs half of the bed it replaced.

Having had a JRC TH Specimin Bedchair for best part of 20 years, as I got older (68 this month) I had a few stiff back moments which if I took time to really analyse it was probably due to age rather than the Bedchair. I hadn't tightened the elastics up since buying it new around 2001/2.
Anyway on a whim saw a shop demo Nash MF whatever with the complete sleep system for £100 so snapped it up. First time out, lifting it up from the boat onto a platform I put my back out

Agree, the MF60 is so heavy. I'm having physio becuase I get a bad back everytime I go fishing.
Personally I prefer a normal bedchair and a wide sleeping bag so there's more room to turn over.

i use the jrc xlite level bed in the summer paired with a trakker sim, light as a feather and as comfy as my MF60 ss4 ,great little bed.

I've got the jrc xlite level bed, i find it very comfy & the size/weight is a bonus, only downside is the short inner legs on uneven banks you may need the help of a friendly rock

Been looking at these Trakkers.
If they did away with 2 of Legs and maybe just had one on the other end it would knock probs 1-2kg off the weight.
Not sure why all the manufacturers are obsessed with 60mm MF why can't they move towards say 40mm again lose a third of the weight.

Done another night on it last night, good for my back but still not convinced on the comfort, was better with a decent pillow though.
The sleeping bag is ridiculously warm even for me, I've been using a techlite for the last 5+ years, can't believe the difference and how much better the trakker one is.
