Sorry I'm a bit bored so have come up with a question to amuse me. If you could only use 1 method of baiting up around your rigs FOREVER what would you choose.
I'll go first
Throwing stick, doesn't limit range by much, decent spread when needed - drawback boilie make up and air rats.

Catapult - love em but range becomes issue
Spod - not great at it, hard work and not the biggest fan of small piles of bait
PVA bags - limiting quantity of bait and quite tight
Feeding by hand margins / opposite margin - like it but limiting
Bait boat - it's not a bit of me, I have one from years ago for a specific water, but struggle morally and the lack of spread (personal opinion)

If you could only use 1 method of baiting up around your rigs FOREVER what would you choose.
As you've not stipulated the ranges involved there's only 1 option that would cover every situation, a bait boat, all the others would be limited range wise. Spread from a bait boat isn't a issue with spirals and spreaders.
Note, boat not listed.

Margins where I can control the spread of bait going in either far bank (that I can cast to and drop a bag on it) or near margins down the edges

Has to be spod, it's the only way to get any type of bait at range, and with Airbnb types you can get a good spread too

I hardly ever use a spomb, but like Ian, that would be my choice if I could only use one method for evermore.

I'd go with my favourite catapult and just fish singles if casting out of their range.

You can't beat casting to the far margin, then walking round and baiting up accurately on the spot, and up the margin. Unfortunately, it's rarely a practical option on most waters I fish.
I did manage it at cottington recently, and sneaked one out when most people weren't catching.

For years I'd have gone with a catapult but more recently it has to be the baiting pole. I'm careful to only use it when the fishing situation suits, but it has put so many more fish on the bank for me in recent years.

Stringers or PVA mesh bags. Probably caught more carp with, than without. Use them all the time if I can get away with it. Even bait up with mesh bags if I can.

Bait boat by far the most effective in all circumstances - accuracy / range / versatility - semantics be damned!
PVA bags catch fish - period. My go to presentation when bites are tough - solid/mesh/big/small = all good
Far Bank by hand - superb / satisfying but rarely practical
Catapult - versatile / easy but limited range
Stick - Decent for boilie angling at all ranges - love spreadbaiting but doesn't work everywhere
Spomb - Effective on some waters but noisy / limited / tiring
Baiting Spoon - Difficult to use consistently but great at short range when fishing with groundbait balls
Baiting pole - Never used one / can't be *rsed / a lot of faff when a bait boat does a better job

It would be a throwing stick for me. Shame about the gulls these days but I've started using 24mm baits and the black heads struggle to grab those.
Anything out of stick range I would fish singles or bags.
Everyone knows deep down that bait boat fish don't count.

I used to think that religiously sleeping under an umbrella in all weathers / using small leads / only fishing for 'proper ones' / actually pushing a barrow was the way forward - alas no more . . .

I dont think we can count pva mesh bags as a "baiting tool" surely!
