Ok guys,as the title suggests. No extras and all that crap.I have a bigger bivvy for long stays,but I'm looking to upgrade my fox super brolly for short sessions.
I'm 5ft 9 ,don't need a massive footprint blah blah.Just looking for the quickest set up out there,after spending an age setting up my fox super brolly and sweating my arse off,wondering there's got to be better than this,as I've not upgraded now for 8 years! Thanks in advance.

Any pop up one. As Tim said, the Fox Easy Shelter. Think Quest also do one.
Other than that, oval brollies are really quick and there's plenty of those to choose from.

The fox easy shelter plus is great, very quick to get set up and lightweight enough to transport about. The material is quite thin though, this hasn't caused me any issues as yet, but something to consider.
Packing it away can be a nightmare until you get used to it, it may take a while putting it away in the first few usages, I always felt i was on the verge of breaking it when folding it up into the figure of 8 shape. I've used it on lots of days trips and it's been fine enough though.
A simple profile type brolly with wings might be easier though for you, that has to still be the quickest set up going, without the add ons of groundsheets and infills e.t.c

+1 for the Tempest brolly. I've got the V2 Air, same principal, friends have the brolly, the new quick knuckle system on the RS will make it even faster, if you want to spend that much.

As a proper shelter...Cannot see anything being quicker than a tempest brolly and better weather protection than a normal brolly type frame. I'd get a second hand tempest v2 . I have a fox specialist brolly and no comparison really apart from the fox brolly is obviously much smaller and lighter

Naah - not if theres mud on ground! You have to open the damn things on a gsheet or bedchair. Standard 50/60" brolly quickest

Sounds like you need a tempest brolly. Arguably the best shelter there is. Rapid at getting up and down for overnighters, no aditional poles to have to faff about with. Its all i ever use, whether its overnighters or a week in France. Cannot rate them highly enough.

I used the original one for a season down on the windy windswept banks of the River Trent in some really big winds
and unlike your imagination there was no faffing around as you put it
very very easy not once did I ever have any dramas
but like everything else people that have never used one often imagine problems that dont actually happen

He left me thinking more kite than shelter, I suppose you could hold it over your head in strong winds ...was a joke.
Those poles looked very flimsy but then remembered my Evo with it's T4 ali was very flexible in the wind, more a strength than a weakness maybe.

JRC Cocoon 2G Shelter? Bit more protection than a standard brolly.

the Easy shelter is like my Gardner pop up i had about 30 yrs ago.......... flimsy as anything and used to flap around like a good un with a wind of more than 5mph.........

Oh you bought back a memory Used to use my Gardner pop up to keep my camping gaz fridge in on week sessions and I hadn't used it for a year or so and as the Carp show was on at Kempton I thought I would do a Sat night then straight to the show but when I came to pack up I could not fold the bstd up
So bundle it into the car and left it set up in the carp shows carppark

First time i used it i had to wedge it in the back of my car and take it home as couldnt get the hang of the figure of 8 bend and twist..........Lots of practise and used to be able to pack it away real easy.........

Yep - Lo pro is smaller than a tempest and lower. I've had a chair on my bedchair in mine and it's pretty tight and not hugely comfy. Now using Aqua ultralite and the extra height is a massive godsend.

I've used mine for that (as well as nights).
Absolutely fine with a chair. Can just peg the wings in to raise the height to whatever you want.
That with three pegs (one for the back and one for each wing) and you're away. Probably the easiest/lightest option imo.
