I second this, best braid scissors I've ever had. One remark though, the blades are serrated, so on fluo/mono you won't get a clean cut (e.g. for crimping).

These absolutely. I trued to cut a rig off recently and accidently snipped right though the swivel. Just cut it clean like it was nothing.

Yes, these are the ones

I've never used braid scissors, always used one of those craft stanley type knives with the retractable/snap off blades, cheap as chips to buy replacement blades and always razor sharp as a result. I also find it easier to see what I'm doing using them.

I bought the small thinking anglers braid cutters and to be fair they are really handy especially with the stripping tool on them

Those Cuda £4 scissors are now £18 😂 what are some other recommendations for decent ones? Fishing branded or not but must be small

Preston rig scissors are good.

Personally for Carp I've only ever used the small 9mm Stanley knives with break off blades. This ones in my bucket lid

I defy 😀, as usual once blunted throw the lot away, v buy some new 9mm blades, 10 pck £2.99....and that's Toolstation prices !

Owner braid scissors or those scissors Gerry used to recommend from Amazon by Cuda that are also mentioned in a post below. Both brilliant.

A tip from me. I have used a lot of braid scissors, Korda, fox etc. and have managed to blunt them all.

The braid type is the key, i use Armacord a lot and that destroys them quickly, cut tough braid right in the jaws of the scissors and normal braid up the blade if that makes sense, prolongs the life a bit

If they cut kevlar fibre cable all day long you must be doing something very wrong to blunt them on fishing braid.


Not fishing companies because they want to forever sell you scissors but I'm surprised no one has come up with a way to resharpen scissors

Not fishing but I used to use Lindstrom 8160 cutters at £28 a pop. They were given a sharpen with an ordinary file many times before binning.

Agree with this . . .and never cut anything else (mono / fluro / coateds etc) with dedicated braid scissors
