Went to France a couple of times this year and realised my chair was not as comfortable as I first thought, either that or I'm getting older, looking for some recommendations for a really comfortable chair to lounge about on, on longer sessions so weight etc not an issue

I've recently bought the Cygnet Sniper Recliner. It's pretty comfy and also not too heavy (< 6Kg). Just noticed someone selling them on ebay for £36, could be because Cygnet no longer exists. Well worth a punt at this price.
It's a recliner, so feet on your bait bucket and it's easy to nod off........
EDIT - just noticed that there are 2 models, the one at £36 is the smaller one and I'm not sure whether it's a recliner?? However, the larger recliner (which I have) is on at £40.

Just used my sofachair this weekend,it is superb and even more comfy that the recliner.I love how no gap by the arms so stops all drafts across bottom of back,the headrest is higher so can really get comfy without slouching.The recliner is good but the sofachair is better by miles imo

I got one a couple of weeks ago, it did come with the bag. Haven't quite worked out what to use it for yet.

It is approximately 68cm but the seat does lower a bit when sit in it

A Tackle shop told me to wait for the new Solar chair, best chair he have ever seen, is expected in February 2024

I really like the sound of the sofa chair the only thing that puts me off is it does not recline !
and as I like reclining with my back fully supported and dozing off im worried the Sofa chair might be to upright ?

I see carping gear moving more toward comfort, height of bivvies etc and so they should imo, lots of older Carp anglers out there now with bigger disposables to boot.
Its just like 1 step forward 1 step back. In winter I would imagine quite a few of us do days and if nice don't bother with a shelter, but the winds can be a killer. We lose most of our heat through our heads yet most chairs head rests dont cover them. Same with falling asleep, head lolling over the back, not the best, and my days of slouching down are nearing over, so my back tells me!

some time ago I was lucky enough to go to FARLOWS at west drayton where they have/had most of the chairs on display THANK GOODNESS !!
as I was considering buying one of the moon chairs terrible things I struggled to get out and had to ask someone to help me I ended up buying a Levelite Long-back chair initially thought it was the best chair but few things bugged me sold it and bought the Solar SP C-TECH RECLINER CHAIR - HIGH and for me its perfection can recline it and doze off and if the need arises can get out of it easily

I was in the same boat, I really didn't fancy arms on a chair. To me they always look a bit more camper than fisher, and thought they would be awkward. But bit the bullet and bought the C tech low a couple of weeks ago. Having used it 3 or 4 times it really is as good as people are saying and I've found the arms don't get in the way at all.

Is the Solar Sofa Chair (extended legs) as high off the ground as the recliner chair? I'm 6ft 1 so don't wanna be slouched..... cannot find the measurements on the Solar website?

I don't think you'll be slouching mate, I'm just over 6' and it's fine for me. I did just get the chair out and there isn't much adjustment in the front legs, unless I've done something wrong about 10cm, that takes the front to 37cn H, under the knee.

I've got the SP C-Tech chair like some others on this thread. I also recently bought the sofa chair which is not worth the £165 price tag. In fact, I don't find it comfy at all. After a short period of time it starts hurting my hips with the pressure. It's the way it's designed by hugging you into the seat. In theory it should be mega comfy but I think it's a waste of money. It's compact and lighter than the C-Tech which is why I bought it. It's lower to the ground so not great if you're a taller guy. I have noticed the difference getting up out of the sofa chair compared to the high recliner C-Tech. I'll be selling the sofa chair when I get chance to take photos to list it.
The SP C-Tech is comfy BUT it's not the best on the market. Don't get me wrong, I do rate it. Although my pal has the Fox R- series (I think it's called), cost £240 but it's noticeably more comfortable. It is twice the price of my SP C-Tech but it's mega. Gents are talking about the Solar SP Recliner Chair MKII ?, some retailers advertise as MKII some do not, presumably they are one and the same ? Prices seem to be dropping especially on the low back version so was wondering if Solar are about to launch a new version bit like what they did with the SP C- Tech bed chair. Thanks.
